I played this one after playing the CE version of "The Wishes" first. I didn't consider Wishes to be an A-level game but tried the CE version "Wealth" anyway. It was worse. It is pretty simplistic, not clearly drawn, juvenile, and short in terms of play. The bonus game was based on a silly premise. I have played many, many HOG games, but my notes to myself on this one conclude with the comment, "Don't buy any more games in this series!" Just one person's opinion.

Hi Reenie, just to clarify - there are two different series of games you are talking about here; one is the Grim Facade series by ERS (responsible for A Wealth of Betrayal, which you didn't like), and then there is the Grim Tales series by Elephant Games, with one of the games in that series being Grim Tales: The Wishes. wave

You're right, my bad! blush The games are right on top of each other in my alphabetical list.

Still, "Wealth of Betrayal" was mediocre at best. I can't recommend it to anyone.

ERS has made some good games, but it did seem like A Wealth of Betrayal wasn't one of their best efforts (based on what I read - I haven't played the game).

It's easy to get these series mixed up when so many of them start with Dark, Grim, Mystery, etc.! laugh

Yes, it is easy to mix up these games. LOL It is a rare one that doesn't have in the title at least one or more of the following terms: grim, dark, haunted, witches, mystery (duh!), or curse. It is one reason I maintain a list as I play them, so I don't mistakenly buy one a second time! lol

A nice thing about Big Fish is that while the shopping cart will allow you to buy a Collector's Edition and a regular version of the same game, it will not allow you to buy an exact replica of a game you already have: if you try to put it in your shopping cart, you will get a message saying that you have already purchased the game. I'm sure a lot of folks appreciate this feature. grin

Yes, very helpful that. It stopped me once from repurchasing from Big Fish. I did buy a duplicate game once, though, because I forgot I had bought the CD version and already played it years before. After I bought the Big Fish version and downloaded it, it started to look familiar. Then, I looked on my game shelf. Oops! So many ways for stupid to triumph. blush
