There are two kinds of people, those who finish what they start and so on.
Robert Byrne
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things That Tick Me Off
People who point at their wrist while asking for the time. I know where my watch is buddy. Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the bathroom is?
People who are willing to get off their rear to search the entire room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change the channel manually.
When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". WHAT???. What good is a cake if you can't eat it? What, should I eat, someone else's cake?
When people say "It's always in the last place you look". Of course it is. Why would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?
When people say, while watching a movie "Did you see that?" No pin head, I paid $9.00 to come to the theater and stare at the ceiling up there. What did you come here for?
People who ask "Can I ask you a question?" Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya buddy?
When something is "new and improved", which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.
When a cop pulls you over and then asks if you know how fast you were going? You should know officer idiot, you pulled me over.
When people say "Life is short." What?? You didn't just ask that for real did you? Life is the longest thing anyone ever does!! What? Are they going to do something that's longer?
When people ask "Can I BORROW a piece of paper?" Sure, but please don't return the favor! It's on piece of paper!
When you are waiting for the bus and someone ask you "Did the bus come yet?" If the bus came, I would not be standing here Einstein!
8. If a mute swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?
11. Is there another word for synonym?
12. Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice?"
Good morning everyboomie. welcome
I'm having trouble keeping track of the days. think
I'm pretty sure it's the day after yesterday, but beyond that I haven't a clue. crazy
I'm going to go on the supposition that it's Sunday. razz
Since we cleared that up I wan't to make sure that you're all good little angels today.......ok?
I can't have any naughty things going on in the diner.....................like this......
Or this..........
Having a happy day is allowed though, so by all means, or by just a few means if you'd rather, find some way to entertain yourselves and have that happiness all day, and be sure to share it with someone else.
Good morning Boomies and father to all the Dad's in this world. My own Dad passed away last year in March and I still miss him dearly.
Nan: thank you for thinking of me and of sending the Band whenever we travel. Big hugs!! hearts
Ana: what's the matter with your shoulder? Too much dancing? Get well soon! flowers
We are in Switzerland for a short time. In July I have to drive to Southern France for an opening article and then to my Italian home for ceramics firings. I got a trash-bin-kiln from a student for free and I'am very happy.
I wish all Boomies a happy Sunday, sun and fun.
Love,
Evelyne
Super Sunday ya'll puppy
Hubby and I were up waaaay too late watching Justified. He has early mornings for the next 2 weeks so that will be the last night of doing that.
My sinuses are in open rebellion this morning. Must be something blooming in June that my head really does not like.
What are you all doing for Father's Day? I was hoping our local ball team would be in town but not so I think we are going to lay very low. Maybe a moviethon of some type with the kids and fajitas for supper. Son is off today so will be a good day to hang out as a family. Happy Father's Day to all our Boomer dads!
Ana, how is the shoulder this morning?
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads! wave
Penelope is still here, and just now decided it's time to eat all the grapes and get a drink of water around the corner from the communal water dish.
Raccoons were back last night after a 2 night absence. Footprints all over, empty feeder, muddy, empty, water dish. Ugh. I keep 2 water dishes (one on either side of the house) for just that scenario. Raccoons don't use the alternate one, so it's always available to all the Outdoorsies.
Today's project is dismantling my 'wireless' security camera set-up. Been giving me trouble for years and lately, I think someone in the neighborhood installed something that is interfering with it big time. Glitching and terrible to try to watch. So off it goes. Managed to knock my finger against a wooden post while prying out a stripped screw. Ouch! Gotta go shopping for a non-wireless camera now. Was gonna reposition one of the old ones, but they are about 20 years old or more and I don't wanna mess up what's working. Should be something cheap and good that will just plug into the TV monitor and not glitch. OH WAIT! Neighbor across the street JUST had ATT over there about the time my cameras started glitching and they installed probably the entire 'works' TV, internet, wireless phones, etc. Aha! I think I've figured out my problem. In any case, my cameras are just getting old (like me) and need a rest.
Off to Costly Co for Won Ton. Hope they have the type I like. Tried some new ones (precooked) but they had cilantro in them in huge amounts and it overpowers the other flavors. Yuk.
Quiet around here. Last night was 'lady fingers' firecrackers going off down the street. Four drunk guys (had seen them earlier going up the street) decided to go home (I think to the compound where all the young druggies have moved in) and were throwing the firecrackers under cars along the way and yelling and laughing and all that good stuff 4 drunk guys do. Terrible. Noisy, obnoxious, stupid. Imagine a spark going off under an old vehicle that 'might' have some sort of leak?????? They sure were stupid.
Happy Father's Day again to all! father
It's a long day today lol I managed to get the dogs out and I'm in the corner now. I can't wait to see the chiropractor to fix me back up. It's hard to do anything when you can't move your arm.
Have an awesome day all!
Went shopping for a new security camera to replace the 'wireless' one I had that was glitching like crazy. The Tool place, which usually has a good assortment, had one open box and another with some sort of DSR connector. Or something like that. It looks like a cable connection with a pin. Had no idea how to install that one, but went to Radio Shack and found only ONE model but it was on sale and included an 'adapter' for that silly pin connector so it would plug directly into my old TV jack. Neat.
Installed it (only took me 1 1/2 hours to try different positions (different way of aiming it was horrible) and hundreds of trips up and down my step stool causing a pulled muscle in my side, but finally got it right. Drilled a ton of holes on my porch posts and then tacked up all the wire and running it in the window to the TV etc. It's all done and working fine. No glitching because no interference. Nice.
THEN Penelope Peacock decided to eat up all the grapes from last night. I got another batch, walked out on the deck and was met by Penelope looking directly at the dangling grapes in my hand. She has this cute way of tilting her head and has disarmingly huge eyes. So I looked at her standing right in front of me, plucked off a grape and held it out. Guess what, she deftly plucked it from my fingers and dropped it but retrieved it and gulp..it was gone. I put the rest in her dish in the cage. I guess someone has been feeding her hand to mouth, because I don't think she learned that overnight. So maybe in a few days of happy Penelope feeding, I will be able to get her into the cage. She's toooo cute, but such a nuisance. I just don't know what to do. I'll let nature decide if she goes or stays. Sigh.
Hi all. Just reading the posts for the day. I've been home for awhile now. Disaster at work tonight. Barbara, who uses her power chair to get around in her home, drove into the living room over a rug that is in there, caught the rug in the power chair and she dragged it with her, ending up with the entire rug curled up under her chair. Mike couldn't help, nor could I, so he called his son who lives in town to please come over and help. He came over and in jig time had the whole fiasco solved. It's a beautiful rug. She shouldn't be using her power chair on any rug. That's the chance she takes when she roles over the carpet. Whew! Thank heaven Mike's son lives so close to them. And how was your day?
Ana I hope your chiropractor can solve your problem. Our Massachusetts law states that Medicare no longer pays for visits anymore so I have to pay for them now. Needless to say I don't go as often as I used to.
Going to bed now. Early shift in the morning. Have a good night all.
Midgie hearts sleep
Just do it.
I have to pay for mine too Midgie. Since my insurance won't cover him, he cut his charges for us. It's worth asking. It's still 50 a visit, but better than full price.
Glad you were able to get help for Barbara. eek
Sorta, I think you'll be adopting Penelope any day now. grin
Joe, enjoy your company. yay
