Hi everyone! My pc has been in for upgrading, so have not been able to get into a game for awhile -- how FRUSTRATING IS THAT!!! Anyway, I have started Uru and when I try to get thru the revolving room, as soon as it seems I am thru and the solid cracked wall is in front of me I cannot do anything and I get kicked back to Relto. This game is not at all like Myst if you ask me. Very slow and sloggy running and I don't like having to use the keyboard. I wish this feature of a game was clearly stated on the game boxes so you know what you're getting into. The game is eye-catching and interesting, but not really enjoyable to play. If anyone can inform me about getting thru the revolving room, I would apppreciate it enormously. I am stuck till then, I guess, as I have tried several times to get past this.

Judy, the revolving room comes in two parts--first just walk up against the wall and keep walking until you go through into the middle. From there, watch the opening until you see a room, then quickly walk forward. You will wind up in a big room with a gear on the floor. There is a journey cloth here that you need to touch...

Judy B -- in the opening Uru menu (before you hit "Play", you might want to try adjusting the graphics settings or maybe even the sound settings down to see if that makes the game run more smoothly.

Hmmmm. There must be something more than quickly walking into the opening when it rolls around. First of all, I can only get 3rd person in this sequence. Is that right? Secondly, when that room comes around there is certainly enough time to get into it but my character just walks/runs against the opening like there is a glass wall there. Have tried this half-a-dozen times and its like butting one's head against a wall. What am I doing wrong?

I did't have any trouble walking into the opening. I started walking right at the wall before the actual opening came around, and when the opening arrived it just sucked me right in.

Someone on these boards actually walked BACKWARDS into the opening. You might try that for variety to see if it works!

I do remember doing it in third person only.

Good luck!

I've heard of a few people having trouble here. It sounds like you're doing the right thing but that the game is being contrary.

One thing you could try is to reset the age by clicking the clip on the bottom of the book as it sits on your bookshelf. You will have to start the age afresh but this should not be too much work. Doing this works for some people.

Also make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest patch for the game. You can get it at www.urulive.com on the tech support page, or dowload using the 'update' feature in the initial startup box.

I had that same problem with the revolving room. I just kept walking into it like the first time and it worked after a few tries.

Glad the patch worked! Now we know what to tell people if they encounter that particular problem again.
