I went into a McDonald's yesterday and said, 'I'd like some fries.' The girl at the counter said, 'Would you like some fries with that?'

Women's Meanings
What common words, phrases and sounds actually mean, when a woman says them...

Fine: This is the word we use at the end of any argument that we feel we are right about but need to shut you up. NEVER use fine to describe how a woman looks. This will cause you to have one of those arguments.

Five minutes: This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so it's an even trade.

Nothing: This means something and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with the word "Fine".

Go Ahead (with raised eyebrows): This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine".

Go Ahead (normal eyebrows): This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care". You will get a raised eyebrow "Go ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.

Loud Sigh: This is not actually a word, but is still often a verbal statement very misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".

Soft Sighs: Again, not a word, but a verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" are one of the few things that you can actually understand. She is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe and she will stay content.

Oh: This word followed by any statement is trouble. Example; "Oh, let me get that". Or, "Oh, I talked to so and so about what you were doing last night." If she says "Oh" before a statement, RUN, do not walk, to the nearest exit. She will tell you that she is "Fine" when she is done tossing your clothes out the window, but do not expect her to talk to you for at least 2 days.

Oh (as the lead to a sentence): Usually signifies that you are caught in a lie. Do not try to lie more to get out of it, or you will get a raised eyebrows "Go ahead" followed by acts so unspeakable that we can't bring ourselves to write about them.

That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can say. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you retributions for whatever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and used in conjunction with a raised eyebrow "Go ahead". At some point in the near future when she has plotted and planned, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.

Please Do: This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance to tell the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay".

Thanks: A woman is thanking you. Do not faint; just say you're welcome.

Thanks a lot: This is much different from "Thanks". A woman will say, "Thanks a lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have hurt her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh". Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh", as she will only tell you "Nothing".

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings...

Women's Needs

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed.

Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, 'I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me.'

I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!'

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear...

'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.'

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?'

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.'

We went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis.

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, 'That's fine, honey.' She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.

Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, 'I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier.'

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.'

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?'

I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.'

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?'

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either... but at least that woman knows I'm smarter than her.

Good morning everyboomie. welcome

Welcome to the weekend!

Are you all feeling the heat yet? slapforehead

We are mid to upper 90s every day now. shocked

Looks like Summer is putting the hammer down. taz

As you're all customary to hearing, I'm going to complain about it every stinking, hot, sweaty day. lol

I truly believe in my heart the harder and louder we rebel against Summer, the sooner it will go away, and the sooner Fall will return, and cooler minds will prevail.............kinda. crazy

Agree, or disagree you have to admit one thing, I do complain a lot. snicker

Have a happy day everyone.

Don't make me complain some more. wink

You are allowed to complain sometimes Joe, everyone gets a chance. hearts

Me on the other hand, has nothing to complain about today. Not only do I get to see my favorite singer LP, along with Philip Phillips and O.A.R. tonight, I have V.I.P seats and parking. The real beauty of it is, I got 4 tickets free compliments of hubbys company so I am bringing my partner in crime and her hubby with us! I am crazy excited especially since I had tickets to her last two Chicago concerts and both were cancelled a day before. I also have tickets to her recording session on Tuesday. yay Yay me!

Life is good.

Hope you all have an awesome day!

Good morning, though I know it's not Sat. yet. Been doing a lot of yard work so all will be ready for my yard sale. Sat. is the Spring harvest festival with a parade, lots of food and I'll be tending the yard sale.
Hope all have a great weekend.

Joe can't feel the summer heat here as the thermometer has been stuck in the mid 40's with winds off the lake and rain. Stay cool! Thanks for the chuckles and have a lovely day!

Ana sounds like a lovely way to spend the evening...enjoy!! Gramma's Marathon is going on as I type! Some are trying to break the 33 year record of under 2 hours and 9 minutes. Yesterday they had the 5K. Also today is the half of 13. something miles. It is cool and foggy and misty and the winds are off the lake. At least they shouldn't over heat. Have a lovely day!

Trippy good luck with the sale and have a lovely day!

Haroula have a lovely day!

Gerry thanks for the coffee and have a lovely day!

Connie prayers for the Band around the boys as they travel to and from work! Have a lovely visit and enjoy Lego World. Thanks for the danish and have a lovely day!

Space nice dream!! Have a lovely day!

Gail have fun shopping with daughter today and have a lovely day!

Happy Saturday everyone! Woo Hoo, the weekend is here and I plan to make the most of it with some rest .. yes indeed. Oh I'll have occasional projects and chores to complete as they keep me off the street and out of trouble .. and I need to catch up on some gardening and my whale music .. I can't go back to yesterday as I was a different person then .. so, it's full speed ahead, well er, quarter speed ahead, after all it is the weekend!

Happy first day of Summer. I've been up ever since I realized my toilet was 'running' since 4:30 am. Dunno why I didn't hear it before 6:30! Ugh, loads of wasted water.

Penelope the Peacock was front and center this morning. She scared the life out of me and the 4 Outdoorsie cats who were on the table eating. I thought she was on the roof, but she had jumped to a nearby overhanging branch and then back to the roof with a huge flutter of wings. They brushed by me as I stood with my back to her. Wow. Took a bit to gt all the cats back on the table to eat breakfast. HUGE bird. I threw her several grapes which she gulped down and now she is grooming my deck plants for bugs. Looks and pecks. Guess I won't have any spiders or anything left on anything soon.

OH and she gobbled a bunch of wet cat food last night. She likes the chunky kind. Spot, the old gal licks up all the gravy and leaves the chunks. Penelope eats the chunks. I guess that works.

Off to Homeless Despot today with my tenant/friend. He's ready to install the new sink in the kitchen and is making a list of pipes and fittings he needs. Should be fun. I'm leaving him strictly alone to figure it all out. Last time we did a project 'together' we ended up in a huge argument and I stomped off. He got the project finished without my help. BOTH of us seem to think we are right on everything. Maybe we are, only I think my right is righter than his right and vise versa. rotfl

Well, sorta, looks like you're settling in quite well and P. has accepted you. May it be a long and lasting and rewarding friendship. Like I have another opossum and last night -my bad- I left some cat food in my bedroom and was awakend by funny noises and snarls and 2 of my cats on all 4's and froze solid stares and Mooch hoovering the cat food. Then woke up 5 min alter and......."O good grief what if he jumps on the bed and I'm in it". Boy, did I move but he must have left the room or he's still hiding in it. Hope it's the former.

Just awhile ago there was a loud noise in the house like a book dropping on pergo but nothing inside or out. Funny. I've been here 24 years and always felt 1 living room corner was haunted. Then once a farrier told me -he was psychic- that an old lady used to set on the couch near that corner and look out the front door and wait for her family to come visit her. But sadly, they never did. There's one of those old time phone jacks near there too. I hope she cut them out of her will.

Hotsky today and yesterday afternoon it was 102 on the back porch.

Looking for tortilla soup recipes but nothing hits me as yet. And I want to make pumpkin pie -I have some organic canned pumpkin just waiting- and make cinnamon rolls and bread andandandand. Just thinking about it is tireing.

Everybody happy Saturday

Super Saturday ya'll puppy

Soot and I got up, I read the paper, and then we changed and went out to do errands. Lots of stops and lots of Mexican food later, we are home. Time to go "ahhhh" and try out a new chamomile tea I bought.

Joe, if complaining about summer will make it pass more swiftly, I'll join you. It's amazingly horrible out there. Thank God for A. C.

Ana, thumbsup Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful time tonight.

Trippy, sounds like a fun day. Was it well attended?

Haroula, anything fun happening today?

Gerry, is it a good day?

Connie, where is the Lego Land in Fla? I was just reading this morning in the paper that they are expanding the manufacturing facility in Mexico.

Space, sounds like a nice dream.

Gail, how was the shopping?

Nan, you're not out there running?

Sorta, sounds like a a good way to do it. As long as it gets done, and you don't have to do it, and it's done safely, all's good.

Darlene, how was the party?

Yankee, much too hot to bake...unless you are letting the sun do the work. wink
