If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

Hope your family doesn't drive you too crazy, Joe. lol Enjoy your Saturday.

Have a great day, Space Quest.

Have a nice day, too, Haroula.

Enjoy your Saturday, Cailyn.

Have a terrific day, Gerry.

Have fun at the party, Gail. rah

Have fun at dinner, Connie. thumbsup

Enjoy your Saturday, manxman.

I'm off today. I have a crazy couple of weeks coming up with more hours than I've had in quite a while. This is good for my finances, bad for my sanity. lol I suppose I can sacrifice a little sanity for the much needed extra time. grin

Thorsgoats has to work later, but he and I are going to start a replay of The Longest Journey before he goes. As part one of Dreamfall Chapters will be out this fall, we want to do a replay of TLJ and Dreamfall, so everything is fresher in our minds. thumbsup

As for now, I see the list thread is up, so I"m off to make my own. grin Have a great Saturday, everyone. summer

After a day and night with no Penelope the Peacock, she was right up on the roof in her favorite spot at 8am this morning, waiting for grapes. I'm thinking that she is wary of the raccoons (esp the babies) who might be invading 'her' spot on the roof. They do climb all over and the trees over hang the roof so they could reach it. We will be watching to see if raccoon visits equal no Penelope.

And Yankee, Penelope seems to go by 'taste'. She will pick up a green grape but the drop it. Sometimes she eats it (just swallows whole), but with the red ones, she tastes (squeezes it a bit in her beak) and then gulps them down. I guess she's a picky eater.

Nasty neighbor across the street has decided to let his kids (3 teen girls) light firecrackers for the last week. Last night they were throwing them into the brazier (firepit) in the front yard, then running and screaming. Little ones mostly, but then they shot off some rockets and one huge BOOM. Probably an M-80 type. Gonna be a bad 4th. Boys up the street are also shooting off fireworks and there was a barrage of them behind the empty house directly across from me. I think from the 'tow yard' area. Was a nice display of rockets, but all those sparks coming down and us in a drought and nothing but dry crispy grass and weeds all over and rotted old houses with dry wood. Not a good thing.

Wish fireworks were legal, love them, but if they were legal at least the media would be putting out 'instructions' for safe use. Where to light, how to do it, what to watch for, safety measures to follow. Now it's just have fun and who cares what happens. Not great. I watch and wait for the first fire, hopefully not in my yard or my older neighbor's. We had one once many years back when some kids were playing with matches. Our empty back lots adjoin and although there was practically no grass (all dead and low) that fire raced across from her yard to mine. The fire trucks had to come down my 200 foot driveway (narrow) to get at it before it went to another yard and almost caught an old barn on fire. Close call. Thank goodness for good hearing. We all heard 'crackling' before we saw the smoke and flames. Praying for a safe few weeks here with all the escalation of fireworks. Also seems that the roofer's kids (now teens themselves) are supplying the other neighbors and all are enjoying the fun. Roofer is a nice guy, would never condone that, but the kids wait till he and the mom are gone for the night or weekend, then do the parties and fun stuff. Life is exciting.

I will post another diner post today. I'm glad I had a chance to get one more post in. I only need 57 or so more to be an un-shy Boomer. Who would have thought after four years I'd be this far along? happydance I'm on a roll now. grin

I'm off to work. It's supposed to be busy today. I also have to work the Fourth of July, but I get holiday pay plus time in a half for every hour I work, so it's a good thing.

Have a good day, everybody. summer

It's a nice day here, kinda dark, rainy and coolish. Just a fine energising day and I'm still waiting for it. Maybe later on. although a good day to finish Wolfenstein and then start it on a more difficult level -although there are parts........

oh gosh Sorta, it's so quiet here you can hear leaves blowing -a few feeble fireworks on the 4th and new years. Actually when my family is over, we are the noisiest. Thanks for Penelope updates. So she doesn't like raccoons? Baby ones at that -well Princess P. get over it. Do you have grapes all year long?

Gotta do dishes -lots of 'em. I made tortilla soup Thursday and realize my problem with it. I don't care for tomatos in chicken broth. Beef broth fine. It did tast better yestersay after a day in fridge and I'll finish it today.

Happy Saturday

Grapes, yup, we get grapes from the Central Valley of Calif and then from Mexico. I prefer the California ones but the others are Ok. I've got to go out and buy some red ones. Penelope is just ignoring the green ones. Must taste different.

I think the raccoon problem is that they are aggressive and inquisitive. She doesn't even like the Outdoorsie cats. Keeps moving in on them and taking over their areas when she is on the prowl. She especially picks on the old gal, Spot, who cowers under the feeding table, guarded by all the legs of the table and 4 chairs and Penelope can only approach and peck at the deck in front of Spot, who is safe in her 'cage'.

Penelope is huge and could easily attack the cats but does not. Must be only a territorial thing with no really attack behavior. She also jumps up on the feeding table after all the cats go away to lounge and pecks at the chunks of wet food that are left after Spot licks up all the juices.

Gorgeous day here (as usual). I've been sitting on the porch swing enjoying the sea breeze and warm sun. Fought off ants on the porch after hosing it down. I guess they didn't like the flood in the cracks where they had set up egg protection duties. Had to water, spray with bug spray and then hose off again after killing everyone. Felt bad, but can't have them running into my front door carrying eggs. Poor things. All gone now for awhile.

American Express still has a 144 buck charge from Wally Mart TWICE on my bill. I keep checking to see when they figure it out (after calling them). Walmart's fault for double entering the same bill. Stupid, but I want my money! And still got the double billing on my Medicare from my new SS account and my Teacher's retirement. Hope they will correct that and do a refund quickly. I put it in writing after my second call to them. First time they said I didn't have to do anything and it would automatically change over. I shouldn't have listened.
