So tonight i was looking some old photos and i found those below. I thought why not sharing with you? i think they are unique and i thought you might like them...

Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Photo 4

I don't know how those trees are called in english but in Greece we call them Platania. I think the english word is maple...

The first 2 photos are taken in a village called Tsagarada in Pelio. This particular maple is among the oldest in Europe (1200 years old) and it's perimeter is 40 meters. The branches are like big trees.

The other two photos are taken in a city called Arta. According to the local legends under this maple shade, Ali Pasha of Ioannina, oversaw the hanging of those would dare to raise against his power.

Wow! I love trees. Thanks for sharing. Very impressive.

Based on Wiki - Platania trees are Sycamores here in the US.

It's definitly a Sycamore tree as MaG pointed out. We have them in the woods across the street from me but none so stately as the ones Volkana has.

Great photos Volkana, thanks for sharing them smile

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
