Good morning everyboomie. welcome

Welcome to Joe's Bar & Grill!

Chief cook and bottle washer here.

I had a great weekend, but now it's back to the salt mine.

I sure hope that someday I can escape that dreaded pit forever. slapforehead

I never could stand working underground, but everyone in this place is a company man, working in the mines, and living in Saline City. You buy all your goods at the company store, and go to the company doctor for your yearly exam. rolleyes

I may as well just sign my check and give it back to the company. hardwall

At least I don't have to pay for my salt.

I scrape it off of my boots each night.

If your ever get buried in a mine collapse, your body will be preserved forever, just like the pharaohs of old.

I think it's important to preserve my body for science, so that might not be a bad way to go.

At least I have the diner, and you guys, to add a little sunshine to this dreary life. urock

Have a happy day everyone.

luck with your project and lawn work, Ana. Have fun at the park. puppy

Have a great day, too, Space Quest.

Once again, it's late Tuesday night for me. It's a bit easier for me to get my posts in this way when I have to work the next morning. smile Today was a busy day at work, but I got a lot accomplished. Should be busy tomorrow as well. As for now, I'm off to sleep.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone. summer

Good morning everyone. Fed Ex forgot to put the pump on the truck yesterday, shame so Robert had to go to Sanford to pick it up when he got home from work. It's all ready to go except for the Silica sand, Pinch a Penny was already closed. Robert will pick it up after work today. To all here and all who follow, have a Great Hump day. Wonderful Wednesday ya'll puppy

Hubby and I were up and out early. I so did not want to get up...tired, tired, tired, but hubby bailed out so I did too. Not so cool out there this morning as yesterday, but we got our exercise in. happydance

Running out in a few minutes to mail a package to daughter. She has not yet gotten anything we've mailed her sad

Then up to the kitchen to make up a salve for son's hands. He was working with some kind of solvent yesterday and his hands are a mess!

Bread did not happen yesterday so it might happen today, but not unless my coffee kicks in. Right now all I want to do is lay down and go "ohhhhhhhhhhhm"

I also need to make Seagy some new chicken broth. She got picky immediately after her treatment this time. sad

Taking Skymonkey to the vet for a confirmation that his ear infection is gone is also on "the list", but.........

Hope your day is wonderful! wave

Afternoon, Space wave We are taking the family to a ball game, and the weather is even supposed to cooperate....high is forecast for 91 as opposed to 100. Do you have plans?

Really want to take a nap but instead will take Sky to the vet. I'm sure his ears are fine, but want to be positive and can only be that with a smear. I need to go to vet school.

Will also get the tail light on the van fixed whilst at the vet...they are right next door to each other.

Boys will be here right after I get back.

Salve for son's hands came out greasier than I wanted but it will be very effective, I think. It has a very nice aroma though. First time for that recipe so now I have a starting point to tweak. Made notes as I for sure won't remember. Son will just need to rub it in well and wait a bit before touching anything. Might melt some more beeswax into it to see if that will improve the texture. Hubby has been needing something for his dry elbows too and this should work just fine for him. So fun to play chemist in the kitchen. Not so fun to clean it up. I need some kitchen fairies.

L4L, home remedies are the best and you know what's really in the stuff and you can be fussy about ingredient quality. I bet there's a ton of herbs etc in my pasture -I've let it grow wild on it's own all these years (24) different wildflowers each year. Bottle up something that will make us smarter and prettier and you are a rich lady.

Any Penelope news today? Will the fireworks scare her?

Weather forecast: Hot, sunny and few clouds = summer's here.

I finished Wolfenstein yesterday and plan to replay maybe on a more difficult level which would be on hard -it would be an accomplishment.

Take care of your pets everybody and give the wildbeasts a helping hand too.

Good afternoon boomies! I finished the neighbors yard. I had to cover myself head to foot to keep from being eaten alive from mosquitoes. Standing water all over the place and had to move a ton of stuff just to start cutting the foot high grass and two-5 foot weeds. Ugh. It looks good now so I'm happy. Hopefully they'll start taking care of it themselves soon.

Merlin couldn't walk on one leg today and I gave him his pain meds and now he wants to go running. I'm going to go with my better judgement and keep him home.

I have to jump in the shower now, I feel like I have ticks crawling all over me. eek Then it's back to work for me.

Hope you are all enjoying hump day. hearts

Ana, I use Charlie's Powder but plan to make my own as soon as I run out of what I have on hand. I do make my own dishwasher detergent, and like it just fine.

Is this your annual family gathering? I thought that was later in the year.

No, I missed holding my Memorial Day gathering because of my race weekends and seeing my Indiana sister on other weekends we canceled my usual get together. My niece is holding a 4th of July party so we are all going there and I am having a non-family friends party on the 5th. I can let my hair down with my friends. grin

Let me know how you like detergent when you make it, I'd be interested in that. Can you share your dishwasher detergent recipe?

No cameras or FB posts, and that really is one of our rules since one of my friends holds an extremely high position for an extremely large world wide company but you can still come! lol We do plenty of shenanigans. I grew up with them since grade school so we tend to regress when we gather on the weekends. grin Bring your guitar!

Forgot to post. Penelope wasn't at breakfast. She ate a 'late' supper and left at 8:04 after emptying the dish of grapes and blueberries. This morning I drove to the store and saw her standing on the sidewalk in front of the 'compound' where a million young men live renting rooms. They are the ones who seem to claim the peacock is theirs. So there she was looking at a car at the curb as if they might be feeding her something. When I came back from the store, I was unloading the car and she walked right up behind me, she wasn't there when I drove up so she is now 'stalking me' and hiding until I appear. Maybe she thought I'd gone out to get more red grapes. rotfl I tossed her some on the roof and she was happy.

FOUND at the thrift store. I pretty frosted green glass 'powder box' with a figural English Bulldog on the lid. Really cute. I figured a buck was OK to spend on it. So I get it home and find out it's from the 1930's by a well-known company. Nice. Very cute and it will go into my cabinet with all the other powder boxes, music boxes, perfume bottles, etc.

Off to clean out my fridge. Found some stuff that expired 6 months ago. Ohhhhhh!

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.
