How is life? Boys and I are home staying cool. Son and hubby are at work. We are going to be as quiet as possible today, but not sure how quiet that will be lol

Gee, it's going to be a quiet day today. The guys around the corner have finished re-roofing the house over there. Looks nice. No more hammering.

No Penelope yet. Probably having a late breakfast at her other favorite hang-out.

All yard cats (Outdoorsies) are skittish this morning. Dunno if it's the raccoons (who didn't come last night) or something else. One noise and they all scatter and then wander back to feed. Must be peacocks and raccoons. Haven't seen anything else strange yet. Maybe there's an elephant hiding out in the back lot???

We had a huge brush fire, fires actually last month just North of us and now they have arrested a Juvenile GIRL for starting the one that burned over 40 houses! Amazing. They said they have enough evidence and eyewitness testimony to charge her. She supposedly set several small fires in several nearby areas intentionally. This was right near a college campus. You can actually see the first smoke and flames on someone's security camera and then 2 girls running out of the canyon away from that spot. Oh my! This will be interesting. Dunno how old she is, they won't tell. Could be very young, but they are saying 'teen'. Can't hold her for money damages, but parents could be responsible for at least 25k. Not nearly enough for all those people who lost homes and pets and a lifetime of memories. So sad.

Off to count cats and see if Penelope has shown up yet.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

A big brown preying mantis just scared the living daylights out of Commander Buttons. He was on the front porch, immoble and saucer eyed -what's the matter with that cat? Another rescue and now it's in the big hackberry tree.

Last night I started listening to Andre Rieu then Placido Domingo and then somehow got to neighbors from hell -not the game, real neighbors- and all of a sudden it was midnight. How some people live. Neighbors here are very far apart although when I moved here I was warned about 2 families, to stay away from them. And I do.

Penelope sounds independant and very smart. Wow!!! would she ever like it here -grasshopper smorgesbord morning, noon, night. If you could put a tiny camera on her.....

Good afternoon all! I've been here, just plugging away in the corner. grin One project done, the other still going. I did run the dogs and cut the lawn today though so I got some fresh air.
Merlin kept me up until 3. He wouldn't settle down unless I petted him. I hope tonight is better because I'm exhausted.

Almost Friday!! yay
