I saw on the site that is now also for win 7 so good news for win 7 people....(I guess)...did see a forum and found out that this is a very short item. for some was only an hour's worth of play for others 5 hrs (I think I'd be in the latter group since I like to explore, look into every nook and cranny--and still usually miss something!)

I love Dear Esther. hearts It's a love it or hate it experience, but I thoroughly enjoyed piecing together the fragmented narration and working out the story, and what exactly happened to Esther and the narrator. And, of course, exploring the beautiful island.

And, oh my word, THE CAVES! If you play Dear Esther, you won't forget the caves from the third chapter in a hurry.

It played very smoothly on my Win 7 desktop. If your laptop meets the requirements Marian has listed, you should be fine.

I downloaded from Steam. It was pretty easy, but if you have the choice between Steam or GoG, go with GoG.

I've played Dear Esther several times and adored it!
It was unlike anything I had played before.
I had no problems playing on my Win 7 laptop.
I downloaded mine from Steam, with no problems.
I've played it several times, nearly 12 hours.
As Rushes said, folks either like it or they don't.
The beauty of the scenery is unparalleled.
