Hi Doug,

I'm sorry you didn't like the painting in the game.
Around that time - 15th century, paintings of hell and heaven (angels and devils) are favored. Like Michelangelo's Last Judgement painting on the wall of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican.

The games' story centers on a man Malte Stierngranat and his family - descendants.
One of his obsession is the painting by Bosch. It is a reference to what kind of man Malte is.
You can do the painting puzzle when time comes in the game and not come back to it.

It never struck me that the painting would put off some players. I should have understood that though, because it is indeed a gross painting. I don't think it would have stopped me from using it though. Technically, it's a brilliant painting, and, as MaG points out, very typical for its time.

The only thing that was considered "controversial" among the beta testers was the use of the word "poop" in a poem. It remained in the game however.

Well much worse things than the word "poop" or a "dirty" picture have appeared in games and I've never been put off by any of them !! rotfl

GuybrushThreepwood~ Oh dear... I thought I was the only one to be 3 games behind. lol For me, it absolutely has nothing to do with the games, because I love the series. All I know is that I'm playing less and less; and certainly not filling my computer 'shelf' with downloadables in general.

It used to be fun to go to the store, check out the box art, buy the games, install the disks, and anticipate the adventures ahead. For me, this might be part of the reasons why I've bought and played fewer games of late. I thought that with time, I'd change (& thoroughly accept and enjoy the concept of download-only gameplay), but that hasn't seemed to happen.

Aside from the high quality of the games, maybe it's simply that MDNA-Games is still creating disks. And.... when the next Carol Reed adventure comes out, I'll be among the first in line to buy it... or any other MDNA-Games offering!

Lol! Yep, the painting was not my idea of great art, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate its historical value. Its weird that the painting would put people off this great series - I'd have thought it would be
