question I should know the answer to but dont. I decided to play myst again and am playing from the book. I found the save icons and am saving ---but --- this is the question - does the game restart where I left off? or is it somewhere and I have forgotten how to find it.
appreciate help. thanks

I remember how Myst Masterpiece saves games; I'm thinking that the original Myst works the same way. If it does not, I hope someone will correct me.

No matter where you are on Myst Island when you save, you will start in the Library, looking at the ceiling. Don't worry, though; the important thing is that all of your progress is saved (i.e. switches and levers and other such things). The game saves in a default position in each Age, depending on which you saved in. However, if you save when an Age is only partially completed, then you will have to do the Age over again.

Thankyou. I am playing the masterpiece disc from the real prima myst book, but I expect its the same.
with the complete lack of any games of any sort I decided to start all the myst games again, I had forgotten how entertaining they were although I always remembered them with fondness. thanks for the help, Ill probably need more as I move thru to myst "end of ages". just glad I bought them on dvd. Thanks again.

Hi Teresa,
For a "REAL" Myst experience, I would recommend very highly that you purchase and play "REAL MYST". The navigation, the graphics, and the music are AWESOME. The story line is the same (with a few exceptions). This game is all "eye candy". Although I have the original DISC version, it can be purchased from GOG for the low price of $5.99. ( I don't get a commission. LOL)
I make it my business to play "Real Myst" at least ONCE every year, and I never tire of it. I am also at this time replaying ALL of the Myst games, one at a time. I guess you COULD call me a "Myst-A-Holic".
Sandy

Teresa and Sanford I love to replay the Myst games. I replayed Real Myst last month so I guess it's time to play all the others over too. Have Fun!

Gerry, I guess we are BOTH "Myst-A-Holics", then. I just replayed Myst Revelation, and now I'm replaying Myst-End Of Ages. Maybe I'll try Myst-Exile again, also. ENJOY!

Myst Exile is worth replaying Sandy. I think I'll get it out too. thumbsup
