I am in Marienplatz-Visit One. I went into the green shaded building, next to the meat lady, and clicked on the clickable spot, 4/5 of the way up on the sign on the left side of the door entrance. Mr. Knight kept on saying that: " It's just an office building",and wouldn't go inside. Thus, I can't go any further and need some advice as to what I missed so I can continue on with the game.

Hi Linda,

I'm not sure but I think there's atrigger for entering your lawyer's office.
Have you read Klingmann's receipt using a mirror? I think that is what you need to see Harry about.

Thanks! I went back to the Huber farm and looked through the items in Gabriel's duffel bag. After reading the lawyer's letter, I was able to return to the city and enter his lawyer's office!

Things are going fine so far. I just started chapter 3!

I am in control of Grace in Chapter 4. I went to the post office, talked to Her Huber and the Smiths. I went to the church and then went into the crypt area. I didn't see Gerda anywhere in the crypt area. I tried to see a curser or dagger form anywhere else, but nothing except on the statues and the old heart. I tried to find stairs leading to the upstairs of the church, but nothing. I did see a lady in the back of the church, a dagger formed on her. Grace just said that she wouldn't bother her. I tried to go back to the house and out in the garden but she didn't pick any roses. This is the part that I am stumped. That was the only woman in the rear of the church and no one was in the back in the crypt area. Please give me a hint as to what went wrong?

Hi Linda,

Let's recap the steps that needs to be done before Gerda appears at the crypt area - you have done them I think but maybe missed something:

At the library, read the book about Ludwig II found on the left shelf.
Go to the postoffice and get letter from Gabe.
Talk extensively to Mr. & Mrs. Smith at the Hotel.
Talk to Huber extensively also.
Then go to the crypt to see Greta.

Maybe you have not exhausted all the dialogue possible in the chat with the Smiths and Huber.

Also be sure you are in the crypt at the church.

Hope the chatting will get you through when you go back to a saved game.

I went back to a save and tried everything again. The one thing that I forgot to do, that I was to read Gabrial's letter. Then I saw the Smith's and Herr Huber. The last thing that I did was to go back into the crypt area and saw Gerde. I completed that section.

Stuck-Chapter 4-
I still have blinking locations at Herrenchiemsee, and Beruth(Georg). I thought that I said everything to the lady at the front desk, and saw both entry rooms. I clicked on everything while I was there. I went to the museum and talked to Georg and saw and clicked on everything and in the front room also. The reason I am stuck is that I completed everything and when I talked to Gerde, I didn't have a fax message from Gerde. No calls either. I tried to retrace my steps to find out why I didn't get the fax message. I can't figure out why those places are still blinking. Please give me a hint so I can finish the chapter!

Hi Linda,

At Ludwig's Museum (very picky place with that snotty lady):
Be sure to read aloud all the exhibits.
Be sure to check everyting at the 2 display rooms off the entryway.

Phone call - supposedly this phone call is triggered by reading/finding Ludwig's diary at Ludwig's museum. It's located in Display Room #2 and it's to the left of the paining from Grace's dream. Click on the black case on the left wall when you're facing the painting and read the plaque beside the diary. When you return to the castle, gerde should tell you, you have aphone call.

Maybe after doing the above - these are enough to trigger the fax message.

And regarding the fax - did you click the Ludwig II biography on the phone in Gabe's library after you wrote the letter?

I went back to a saved game in the early part of chapter 4, after giving the roses to Gerde. I read aloud everything twice, and followed another WT, by going to New first then to the museum,etc. I was able to trigger the fax message at the end of the chapter and I finished it!

Stuck-End of Chapter 5-I am out in the woods(Gabe),using the talisman on the wolf, but the wolf doesn't leave, I can't get the wolf to back up enough so eventually he will wander off and I can follow it. Von Glower hasn't shown up yet! In the past, before saving my game, the wolf attacked and killed Gabe!

What should I do to eventually kill the wolf and finish the chapter?

linda, are you clicking your talisman on the wolf? it's not enough that gabe is holding the talisman out -- you actually have to click the talisman on the wolf to get it to back up.

what version of the game do you have? if you send me your latest saved game, i can try to play past this part for you... sierra games can be really picky about saved games and version numbers, though.

Here's an additional hint by Susan:

I played the game twice, and the second time, when Von Glower disappeared, Gabriel automatically took out his talisman without any help from me. Von Zell hadn't made an appearance yet, so I immediately headed for the ravine. When Von Zell *still* didn't appear, I went north and then south back to the ravine, at which time he showed up and attacked Gabriel. Only then did Von Glower return.

Hi,
I am at the end of the game-The Beast Within. I am in the furnace room with Von Glower, and Gabe-the grey wolf! The furnace is open and control given over to Gabe-.When Von Glower jumps, I use the dagger(cursor) to try to push him in open furnace,but either he hits the edge of the furnace, and runs out the room, or when he jumps, I try to hit him in his mid section, but the cursor turns into an arrow, and I fail!
I have my dagger cursor towards the mid section of the furnace-right side, but Leber shoots and my cursor turns into an arrow before I can get him into furnace!
Any suggestions as to why I am not successful in this attempt?

Please I would appreciate any ideas!

As soon as you have control as Gabriel again, LINE UP YOUR CURSOR WITH THE LEFT EDGE OF THE COAL BIN (to the right of the furnace), AND ABOUT MIDWAY UP VERTICALLY. Wait for Von Glower to leap. When he starts the leap, he'll move in relative slow motion. THE INSTANT HE CROSSES THE POINT OF YOUR CURSOR, CLICK ON HIM...

Hi linda, try this... put your cursor on the black wolf (von glower).. as soon as you see him start to jump, click on him as fast as you can. this seems to work best overall.....
