Airline Announcements

Here are some humorous statements made by airline flight crews...

"As we prepare for takeoff, please make sure your tray tables and seat backs are fully upright in their most uncomfortable position."

"There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane..."

"Your seat cushions can be used for floatation, and in the event of an emergency water landing, please take them with our compliments."

"We do feature a smoking section on this flight; if you must smoke, contact a member of the flight crew and we will escort you to the wing of the airplane."

"Smoking in the lavatories is prohibited. Any person caught smoking in the lavatories will be asked to leave the plane immediately."

"Good morning. As we leave Dallas, it's warm, the sun is shining, and the birds are singing. We are going to Charlotte, where it's dark, windy and raining. Why in the world y'all wanna go there I really don't know."

Pilot - "Folks, we have reached our cruising altitude now, so I am going to switch the seat belt sign off. Feel free to move about as you wish, but please stay inside the plane till we land... it's a bit cold outside, and if you walk on the wings it affects the flight pattern."

Pilot - "Folks, if you were with us last week, we never got around to mentioning that it was National Procrastination day. If you get a chance this week, please try to celebrate it. If you can't get to it, then maybe try to do it at the weekend, but no big rush. Have a nice day."

And, after landing: "Thank you for flying Delta Business Express. We hope you enjoyed giving us the business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride."

As we waited just off the runway for another airliner to cross in front of us, some of the passengers were beginning to retrieve luggage from the overhead bins. The head steward announced on the intercom, "This aircraft is equipped with a video surveillance system that monitors the cabin during taxiing. Any passengers not remaining in their seats until the aircraft comes to a full and complete stop at the gate will be strip-searched asthey leave the aircraft.

As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Washington National, a lone voice comes over the loudspeaker: "Whoa, big fella...WHOA..!"

"Should the cabin lose pressure, oxygen masks will drop from the overhead area. Please place the bag over your own mouth and nose before assisting children or adults acting like children."

"As you exit the plane, please make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses."

And from the pilot during his welcome message: "We are pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the industry... Unfortunately none of them are on this flight!"

Headhunting, temps up to 99 degrees, and pneumonia, sounds like disaster ally. Hope you find some 'heads', that the temps drop, and that pesky pneumonia finds somewhere else to go.

I survived the night I think. Most of the guests left by 11 pm. This morning, only the tenant's 2 cars there. Have no idea whether any 'extra' people are still in the house. I suspect there are but all the cars with the kiddos and spouses have gone to motels or sightseeing.

Everything went fairly well, except for the parking situation, which eventually evened out. Whew. Only biggie was the neighbor who stomped down and yelled at my tenants for allowing some of their guests to accidentally pull into his driveway. Duh? If I did that, I would have to yell at about a car a day. Always someone mistaking the driveways around here. All are long ones.

Nasty neighbor across who hates me did his 'I'm a macho man' imitation and did his best to intimidate one of the guests who 'oh no' parked in front of HIS house. Guess he's territorial. I am too, but I sure wouldn't DO anything overt to let them know it's my turf. HE on the other hand, was drinking all day, driving to the liquor store every hour and then partied with the guy 2 doors down (the one who yelled at my tenants) THEN just as the guy who was parked in 'his' spot was leaving (very obvious, lights on, motor running) HE decided it was time to get in his car and BACK up to the guy's front bumper, forcing the leaving guest to back up, then neighbor backed up again, etc. Was a bit scary for a moment. Finally guest backed way up and went out around the guy. Neighbor then spent 5 minutes repositioning his car again and again to get it just right. So stupid. His wife (according to my other neighbor) had to help him back across the street from the 'party' just before all this car stuff started. Thank goodness nothing else happened. You never know about road rage (even if it's only parking rage). Ugh.

Expecting a fairly quiet day. Should I actually say that? Tempting the fates again.

Sorta, a quiet day for you is a frightful hair-pulling day for me. Nothing happens here except maybe -"Oh there's my pet wild boar and there's the deer(s) my neighbor feeds". Or the day I found this extraordinary tree fossil. A geophysicist claimed I'm near the epicenter of a petrified forest. This explains my fondness for violent fps's.

Take care

The 'family' is starting to reappear slowly. 3 cars now with kiddies. They are back to playing beer pong I think without the beer since it's the young ones.

Nasty hateful neighbor decided to let me know he's watching me. I walked out to my driveway to check on why no one can find the middle tenant's address. Sign is small, but noticeable, however last night, the sign THEY put up for the parking obscured it. So today, I changed the numbers to HUGE ones. Much better. But as I did that, the SUV across the street beeped at me. Yup, I know Mr. Nasty is the one who did that. He's just so juvenile. I'm staying clear, didn't even look over there because he's not a nice guy and even worse when he drinks, which lately seems to be constantly. Feel sorry for his family. At least 3 times he's been put on 'suspension' from his job for 'fights' with other co-workers. First time we found out after he was home for a full month and one of the neighbors he talks to a lot told my other neighbor about the incident. Second time, I heard him on his cell (acoustics are fantastic from across the street to my house and vice versa. He was telling someone all about how he was setting up chairs, staying out of trouble, and this other guy just kept 'pushing him' so he exploded. The guy's got a temper. Best to not be near him or say anything to or about him. Ick.

Feral cat with the 'abscess' seems to be doing better. Can't catch or trap or touch him (except for a quick when he's eating pat) but he is here for breakfast each day now. Sleeps under the feeding table sometimes and the huge swelling is going down and as he walked over to the neighbor's yard, the whole thing was 'leaking'. Good for him. I've managed (risking life and limb) to quickly rub some antibiotic ointment under there 3 times now. Hope he's strong and can fight this one. Sometimes they do, sometimes not. Hoping for the best.

Did I mention how I LOVE my new gaming keyboard? I'm sure I did way too many times. Just can't say enough about how great it is! Wish I'd had one like this from the beginning.

Hello everybody. wave

I am miserably tired right now. It was like 1:00 when I got to bed, and then got up at 5:15. tired

It was overcast this morning but the heat climbed way up there anyway, and the air was thick. I did a lot of digging around until about 12:15 before I reluctantly gave up. razz

The effort did produce fruit though.

I found this one first. yay

I found this one second.

The second one I gave to my friend, who did not find anything today. If it weren't for him I wouldn't even be hunting arrowheads. yes

I also found two nice blades, though one was broken. bravo

Is everyone having a good day here? happydance

joe
