Have you installed Java? Just a wag... sounds like a script might not be running because you haven't installed Java.

You will also need to download and install the Adobe Flash Player to be able to play some videos from places like Youtube.

I don't think clicking on the "Walkthroughs" button requires Java or Flash.
It's just a plain html link for http://www.gameboomers.com/walkthroughs.html

I don't know where the "gameboomers show banner bin(yahoo)" would have come from, but it may have to do with one of your browser plug-ins or some junk in your Internet cache.

Jenny I installed Adobe flash player and java. Do you think they hurt my system. Before installing them I didn't have any trouble watching netflix. Now I get a lot of error message. They gave a lot of options of what to do but I don't like making any change in my computer. I have to shut my computer down and start up again. I can watch for about a hour and that's it.

No. Most people have them installed and most computers ship with them installed. You just have to make sure to download them from a safe site so they don't have anything "extra" that installs with them.
I just don't think they helped with your problem using the walkthroughs link.

Copy down the error message next time you see it so we can do a search on what might be causing it.

They are both probably installed on your XP computer too. They just don't come pre-installed on Windows 7.

This is the error I get when I run a movie.

Help Center
Netflix Playback Error N8157 3304

Netflix Playback Error N8157 3304

The error you're seeing is related to the Silverlight plugin, which Netflix uses to play movies and TV shows on your computer.

This error is usually caused by one of two things:

A computer setting preventing Silverlight from storing files it needs to play your movie or TV show
An issue with the Silverlight plugin itself

To fix this error, follow the steps below for your Windows or Mac computer.

Steps for Windows
Steps for Mac

Reinstall your audio card drivers

Your audio card drivers may be out of date or corrupt.

Uninstall and reinstall your audio card driver. Your owner's manual or audio card manufacturer's website can help.

Reboot your computer

Shut your computer down completely and restart it.
Play your movie or TV show again.

Disable Audio Enhancements (Windows Vista/7)

Click on the Start button.
Select Control Panel.
Click Sound.
If you do not see Sound, first click Hardware and Sound, then click Sound.
On the Playback tab, click the Default Device (indicated by a green circle with a check mark inside).
After selecting the Default Device, click on the Properties button.
In the new window that appears, click on the Enhancements tab.
Make sure that the box for Disable all enhancements or Disable all sound effects is checked.

Thanks
Richard

As the error says, this concerns Silverlight, not Flash or Java. Make sure you have it installed. Go to your Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and look for Microsoft Silverlight.

Should I remove it and reinstall it again. I don't see and add and remove in the control panel.

If you don't see it in Add/Remove Programs, then it's not installed.

Richard, in your Control Panel you'll see an option for Programs. Just below that in blue lettering you should see "Uninstall a program". Click on that and that'll take you to all of your programs where you can see if Microsoft Silverlight is installed. luck

It probably wouldn't hurt to do that - just make sure you get it from Microsoft.

Get Silverlight 5

Have you followed the steps for Windows in that error message which says that will fix it? If it's not too complicated, I would try the fix first and if that doesn't work, then uninstall and reinstall from the link Inland gave you.

I guess I should Draclvr. Will let you know if 7 is still on my pc. I couldn't find silverlight anywhere on my pc to uninstall it. I went to install it again but it said it was already installed. AHA I shut my computer down and restarted it and sure enough there it was. Now I uninstalled it. Will try to install it now.
It installed good will check it out later. Have to get something to eat. Thanks all.
Richard
