I am nearly at the end of the game, I have gone through the river tunnel and have assembled the relic, now I am trying to unlock the pins ( have been for a few months) I confess I did not understand this part and have read and reread etc., I finally figured out most of it and I have faithfully copied the picture in MaG's w/t but the pins don't move, is it picky about the exact spot, I'm sure I have that right or am I doing something wrong - much more likely!! Any help would be much appreciated as I would like to finish this on before the next one arrives.

You have to refer to Jin's sketch to determine the correct positions on the relic. You need to drag the inner disc to align the stars, then rotate the outer ring to match the point to the zodiac symbol. Each time you align it correctly, a pin retracts in the center of the relic. You do need to be precise, but as soon as I aligned things correctly, the pins retracted.
