Hi MaG,
This is a funny game and I'm enjoying it. However when I want Simon to pickup the milrith ore in the pile of dirt, he keeps saying, "What would I want with a pile of dirt?" What did I miss? Any hints?

Are you sure you're trying to pick up from the right pile of dirt, RB? You want the middle pile in front of the hole.

Or it's possible you've missed some action, you might want to check Mags' walkthrough here at GB...

Hi Jenny,
I'm using MaG's WT. Yes, I tried on the right pile of dirt. My thinking is that I missed something in the conversation mode somewhere. I talked to the woodcutter and he gave me the metal detector which I used to locate the milrith ore. So I don't understand what I missed. Any suggestions?

Hi RB,

Let me recap and see what might be missed:

Talk to the woodcutter and he will give the metal detector.
Talk to the owl and he will tell you where to find it.
Use the metal detector where the frozen statue of small wizard is found.
When you find it, Simon will drop the metal detector to mark the spot.
Talk to the paleontologist, give him the fossil and later he will do the digging where you left the metal detector.
When he has dug the hole. Move your cursor at the middle mound of dirt in the foreground. You should find the milrith there.

Good luck!
MaG

Hi MaG,
I went back to a saved game and replayed up to that point again. It worked the second time and I found the only difference was that in your WT it says to pickup the milrith. I tried that again the second time and got the same results as the first time, no milrith ore. So I tried the look at command and it showed the milrith ore. Then I could pick it up. Strange huh? Anyway I finished the game after that. Fun game. I will try Simon sorcerer 2 soon, after I play 11th guest. Sorry for the interruption. BTW, do you know where I can get the patch for 11th Guest? I tried the link on Inferno's site but all I get is "page not found." I know Trilobyte is no longer in business.

That great that you moved on.

And also for finding that nuance in action. - Use look command and then pickup. I will edit the wt.

This is what we need to help gamers! Thanks lots, RB!
