It does help with some puzzles but not all. However, I managed to get past my stuckness and have moved on. I am surprised there are not more people playing this game. The graphics are gorgeous and the game plays like a commercial release. Plus it is fairly long.

Is anyone playing this game yet? I'm giving it a shot, and I'm stuck! I got her down the elevator but she won't do anything cuz it's too dark!

You play this game online.....and it is (fairly) long.....so what happens if you have to get offline in the middle of your game, does it save your place so you can come back to it later?

Yeah BettyLou..it saves automatically when you shut down...must be cookies!(?) Anyhow...are you trying it out? I'm still stuck...

You need to go back to your bedroom and search the bookcase and you will find something to throw a little more light on the situation.

Thanks for posting this link - I've been searching for ages for a decent game to play online. I've been trying to load up some games on my PC and having no luck whatsoever so this link is much appreciated. I've only just started and can't even figure out how to cross the road! Has anyone freed the parrot? I've fed him and done everything else but the FAQ's says free him with the 'cutter', I can't find this at all. Where is it? What is it? I thought maybe it was the bird in the apartment block because aren't they sometimes called woodcutters? (Or is that an ant? Oh no that's a leaf cutter). Anyway, I digress! Any clues?

Hi Elle T! You need to talk to the doorman in the lobby of your building, and you need to get him to leave the desk...pick up a couple of things from there..including those keys! Go to the store room and pick up some things there...you will be able to free the bird, cross the street (and other things to do) with the things you collect in there!
Hang in there...this is really a great little game!

I did that, I also went back to the room to see if I'd missed anything and I can't find anything else. I think I got 3 things: a pan, spanner and stop sign, was there more?

Another question (this game really is hard!) I've gone to the museum and the FAQ says 'take the ring from the frog' but the frog doesn't have a ring/isn't offering me a ring.

Any hints?

but I've no idea where to get them from. The other thing is the guy on the other side of the road wants something and I can't figure out what he wants.

I'm going to be a little more specific here. For the frog: go back to the Choco Bar and search the counter. As for the guy on the other side of the street, if you have been in the storeroom of your apt building you should have what he wants.

I can't get in the Choco bar! I'm getting really annoyed with myself because I can't do anything!

Did you use the remote control to change the channel on the tv in your apt?

Thanks, Ispace, I found a hints page that mentioned that. But I'm stuck again. I figured out what I need to do to take the statue and the hints page confirmed this, I have 3 items that I need but it won't let me do it. I'm wondering if I should have another item to mix a certain substance up. I'm pretty sure that I should have had 3 items from the paint shop but I only got two. Even though I've been back there several times I can't find anything else. I've got p*****r, g**d s***y, and the box is open but no matter what I try I can't seem to make anything. I hope you understand this. I'm trying not to be too obvious in case anybody playing has not got this far and I spoil it for them.

This isn't fair! I freed the parrot, did everything else but there was nobody at the port so I went back everywhere, went to the pet shop and the parrot was tied up again. I don't have the cutter anymore so does this mean that I have to play the whole game again. I really did free the parrot!

Is this a joke? I replayed the game to make sure I freed the parrot again which I did. I checked straight after I cut him free but it still says he's tied up.

Somebody please help me, how do I 'properly' free this annoying parrot? (I've also fed him - twice!)

Go back to the pond and fill your cup with water. Combine the mug with the plaster.
Put the plaster in the wooden case. I think you can figure out the next step. :-)

BTW, there is one other item at the Paint Store you need to pick up. I believe it is located in the upper left portion of the screen. Did you manage to feed the parrot with the correct food?

I got on to level two and got quite far and then my stupid computer crashed so I'll have to start again. I just tried and it crashed again. Thanks for your help Ispace, I've found a walkthrough now that is more detailed than the other one I was using. Some of the things amaze me that anybody managed to work out e.g. how to get rid of the apartment guy and how to get rid of the guard at the port station. People must be really clever or have oodles of patience, unlike me it seems.

Ispace, I'm stuck again. I've just done the bit with the monkey, the symbols and totem pole, etc. and I'm back at the plane. I'm supposed to go to Greece next and on route build a parachute but when I get in the plane and pull the throttle I've only got the options to visit the places I've already been. There's no Greece on the map and I don't have the items in the plane that I need. Have I missed something? I've checked the walkthrough and it just says get in the plane and head for Greece but I can't.

The only thing I can think of right now is that you may have forgot to pick something up before leaving. Did you get your walkman back from the camel before leaving Egypt?

If you are still stuck I will go back and replay the game to see if I can help you out but I won't be able to do so until a little later this evening (it's only 4:30 pm my time right now.)

I tried to take my walkman back from the camel but there was no option to do so. I tried from lots of different angles but there was no hand so I figured I didn't need it anymore.

I FINISHED!!! (With an awful lot of help). What a fantastic game, why aren't there more like this? If anybody has any more links please post them. I've already played The Mistery (i & ii), Faradise and MOTAS and looked at D'ni but I can't download it because my PC is going in for repair soon.

Check out Quandary's Free Fun page for more online games. They are not quite as good as True Love but you may find something that suits.

I am playing True Love and can't figure out the hint to use the large key with the spring outside the Travel Agency in Part One. I have only my house keys as I lost the keys at the main desk when I opened the store room with them. Help please. This is such a cute game! Love, Beth

The translation from Greek to English didn't quite take with this bit.

Back again! I can't seem to stop the train in the Metro. There is not enough time to use the umbrella so I figure there must be something else I must do. Help would be greatly appreciated for my 61 year old brain. Thanking you in advance!

Make sure you have your inventory open before you go into the station and that gives you just about enough time to drag the umbrella on to the back of the train.

b42241: If you go to Google and type: 'walkthrough truelove' the first hit is 'Mandi's hints page'. Click on this and you can use Mandi's gentle hints or at the top of the page is a link called 'walkthroughs by the Geek' which is a more detailed and frank walkthrough. As you can see from this thread(!) I needed a lot of help and I found these web pages invaluable because some bits of this game are really hard and I never would have thought to do some of the things e.g. the coffee/stairs bit. Enjoy!!
