Hi Mag,
I'm in the "Damaged Research Station" "Pressure Chamber" on PHAIDROS. I have done all the tasks in the Pressure Chamber and I'm ready to "analyze the samples". The WT states: "Open mobot's new analyzer by clicking on the colored circle icons at top right of screen." I do not HAVE those circles on the top right of the screen, just the main menu, and other things. Am I missing something here. I sure would appreciate some help. Thanks

Did you make the portable analyzer already?

After doing the memory block puzzle, Julia will find a blueprint for a Portable Analytic scanner in her memory.
Then you do the upgrade interface puzzle. You will now have that analyzer at top right of the screen.

I guess I missed one of those steps, so I will go back to a previous save and play until I get it right this time. Thanks so much, Mag.

I had not correctly solved the "upgrade Blueprint" puzzle. Once I did that,I now had the "portable Analyser" icon. Moving along now, thanks to YOU, Mag.

Once more I seek your help, Mag. I'm trying to solve the "Translation Puzzle" on the planet "Ambrosia". I've read that portion of your WT over and over but this old brain of mine just isn't "getting it". I'v been randomly clicking on everything in that puzzle and not getting anywhere. Can you or any other of our fellow Boomers who have completed this puzzle please explain it to me?

- The top portion is the English words and the bottom are the words of the native to be translated.
- Note the formation of the lines of the native words below.
- Look for similar formation of lines on the English version on top.
- Click on the English words then. If there are 2 or more words in the English version - click on all of them.

See below as an example.
- see that the lines at bottom are like a Y with an L facing left.
- see the marked English words at top has the same Y line with left facing L.
- click on the word that is inside the green oval.

That did it, Mag. It was so obvious that I didn't see it. Thanks so much for your help. I have a feeling this won't be the last time. I just finished the "conversation branches" with the creature. Time for me to "quit" for the night. Tomorrow, after work (I volunteer at the Long Island Children's Museum in Nassau County, NY.) Retirement is nice, but I need to keep busy. It "ain't" about just playing PC games. LOL

I'm stuck again. I have just landed again on Phaidros to "locate Xir". The walkthrough states: "Use the arrows at top left to move around the desert." In my game there are no arrows at top left of screen. I could use your help on this one. Thanks in advance.

Looking at the walkthrough, I see arrows on the top right - maybe that's what you are looking for?

The arrows on the right take you to the "side view" of the building. other than that than that I don't see anything else. Very strange.

Let's wait for MaG to see if she can offer you some advice.

To locate Xir - you should:

- have been told by the guardian at Hermes to do so - do the ritual of Ith.
This will be done only after you have finished all the display panels, seen the Temple of Eternal Flow and talk to the guardian again.

- Taken and made the weapon needed to fight Xir. This is in Zenobia.

- Have located the 4 beacons from Elpis.

Then you will have the chart with the arrows at Phaidros.

Mag, I thought that I had done ALL of those things, but apparently I missed at least one. I'll just have to backtrack and try again. Thanks so much for your input.

Actually I'm almost done with the game, but I am having another problem. I have analyzed the container (in the portal Lab)Now I'm outside the Obelisk. There is a final "Mind-O-Matic" puzzle, but when I access the mind-o-matic, I get the three "trees", but I access each one, but I don't get that final puzzle as shown in the pic in the walkthrough. I know this puzzle is "optional", but I would like to solve it anyway. Is it possible that I've missed something?

That's strange - it should be triggered when you stand outside the obelisk that has the portal lab.
This also are mostly info based on talking to the guardian completely.

Have you gotten the chemical made in the portal lab?
Have clicked on that native depiction on the lab machine?

I did all of those things. I just decided it wasn't worth the trouble, so I proceeded to the end of the game. Two nice endings. Thanks for everything, Mag. I should be playing "Gabe" by tomorrow. BTW, I still have the original boxed version of GK1. I also played the GOG version about a year ago.
QUESTION: Do you believe that there will be a new walkthrough for the 20th Anniversary Edition? Happy Gaming to YOU and to all my other Gameboomers.
