A man was speeding down the highway, feeling secure in a group of cars all traveling at the same speed. However, as they passed a speed trap, he got nailed with an infrared speed detector and was pulled over.

The officer handed him the citation, received his signature and was about to walk away when the man asked, "Officer, I know I was speeding, but I don't think it's fair - there were plenty of other cars around me who were going just as fast, so why did I get the ticket?"

"Ever go fishing?" the policeman suddenly asked the man.

"Um, yeah..." the startled man replied.

The officer grinned and added, "Did you ever catch all the fish?"

A man runs into the vet's office carrying his dog, screaming for help. The vet rushes him back to an examination room and has him put his dog down on the examination table. The vet examines the still, limp body and after a few moments tells the man that his dog, regrettably, is dead.

The man, clearly agitated and not willing to accept this, demands a second opinion.
The vet goes into the back room and comes out with a cat and puts the cat down next to the dog's body. The cat sniffs the body, walks from head to tail poking and sniffing the dog's body and finally looks at the vet and meows.

The vet looks at the man and says, "I'm sorry, but the cat thinks that your dog is dead too." The man is still unwilling to accept that his dog is dead.

The vet brings in a black labrador. The lab sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, and finally looks at the vet and barks.

The vet looks at the man and says, "I'm sorry, but the lab thinks your dog is dead too."
The man, finally resigned to the diagnosis, thanks the vet and asks how much he owes.
The vet answers, "$650."

"$650 to tell me my dog is dead?" exclaimed the man.

"Well," the vet replies, "I would only have charged you $50 for my initial diagnosis. The additional $600 was for the cat scan and lab tests."
A new manager spends a week at his new office with the manager he is replacing. On the last day the departing manager tells him, "I have left three numbered envelopes in the desk drawer. Open an envelope if you encounter a crisis you can't solve."

Three months down the track there is major drama, everything goes wrong - the usual stuff - and the manager feels very threatened by it all.

He remembers the parting words of his predecessor and opens the first envelope. The message inside says "Blame your predecessor!" He does this and gets off the hook.

About half a year later, the company is experiencing a dip in sales, combined with serious product problems. The manager quickly opens the second envelope. The message read, "Reorganize!" This he does, and the company quickly rebounds.

Three months later, at his next crisis, he opens the third envelope. The message inside says "Prepare three envelopes"

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: "John, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?"

John says, "I feel just like a newborn baby."

"Really!? Like a newborn baby!?"

"Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just pooped my pants."

An old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home.

He followed me into the house, down the hall, and fell asleep on the couch. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day he was back, resumed his position on the couch and slept for an hour. This continued for several weeks. Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: 'Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'

The next day he arrived with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with four children -- he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The old man in his mid-eighties struggles to get up from the couch then starts putting on his coat. His wife, seeing the unexpected behaviour, asks, "Where are you going?"
He replies, "I'm going to the doctor."
She says, "Why, are you sick?"
He says, "Nope, I'm going to get me some of that Viagra stuff."
Immediately the wife starts working and positioning herself to get out of her rocker and begins to put on her coat.
He says, "Where the hell are you going"?
She answers, "I'm going to the doctor, too."
He says, "Why, what do you need?"
She says, "If you're going to start using that rusty old thing, I'm getting a tetanus shot."
Good booming morning everyboomie. welcome
What a short day off! smirk
I sat around the house most of the day waiting for the seller's lawyer to call. We renegotiated the price of the house I'm buying down $2000, because the appraisal was was for $2000 less than the asking price. We now have to sign a new sales contract reflecting that, which is all well and fine, but the lawyer who said it would be ready to sign today didn't have it ready today. mad
I'd sue him if it weren't counter productive. razz
Meanwhile back at the ranch, to my knowledge we still haven't had an offer on this house, but according to the latest revelation I've received from the probate attorney, the offers have to be tendered to the real estate agent in a sealed envelope until after the 20th. slapforehead
Ever have the feeling that the world would be so much simpler if there were no lawyers? duh
I'm just saying.... wink
I'm also saying good night. I have a nuther early early start tomorrow. tired
Have a happy day everyone. happydance
Joe, things get so complicated with attorneys. I hope you get a perfect offer.
Sue, after a bit of a nerve wracking 3 days, it looks like baby James will be going home tomorrow if he continues as he has since noon. My daughter and son-in-law are more than ready to have their family together.
Have a happy day all! Thank you all for your support this week. I know it all made a difference. hearts
Sorry you had such a frustrating day off, Joe. Hope everything gets resolved with the lawyers, and you get a good offer soon.
Have a great day, Cailyn.
Congratulations on your new grandson, Ana!! woot Glad things seem to be going well finally, and best wishes that he will be home soon!
Enjoy your Saturday, Haroula.
Have a terrific day, Gerry.
Thanks for all the delicious food, Connie.
It looks as though it's going to be a rainy day off for me today, so that means gaming day. rah Yesterday, we picked up more medicine for kitty version Venus. She's really been depleting my bank account this month. lol Luckily, it turned out her problem was what the vet thought it was. She had some pretty bad bacteria brought on by her urinary tract disorder, and the vet gave her the medicine he was pretty sure she needed, though he ran some other tests just to make sure nothing was wrong with her kidneys. I figured as she was getting much better after taking her medicine, his initial opinion was probably correct. And yesterday we got confirmation that it was. thumbsup So she has to take her medicine for an additional ten days, which she will hate, but she'll have to put up with it if she wants to continue acting like her old self as she has been. grin
As for today, Thorsgoats and I will probably play some more Dreamfall before he leaves for work. Then I will most likely work on the Back to the Future game as well as practice singing, since I've gotten out of practice again these past few weeks with all the work craziness. smile
Have a great Saturday, everyone. fall
Super Saturday ya'll puppy
Will be taking the doggies for a walk in a just a bit. Then I'm not sure what. Maybe some bookkeeping, maybe not lol
I do think vacuuming will happen, and then maybe I'll just go bed and watch tv all day. Maybe not. Good to know I'm in such a decisive frame of mind. wave
