I am having a problem with putting two items together in inventory. I need to put the knife over the cereal box and take off the crown but I have the knife on one page and the cereal box on the other. If I pick up the knife to put over the cereal box, I lose the inventory page. I am assuming I need to have these two items on the same page but not sure how to do this. Am I being dense or what? Renee, I can't remember this too well, but it seems to me that you "examine" the cereal box, then pick up the knife and use it...

I thought I had to have the knife in my hand and the cereal box in the inventory. I didn't think I could use two items without them both being in inventory. ???????

Renee, I think the cereal box is in inventory--that's where you use the "examine" feature. Then you pick up the knife and cut.

But I'll admit I'm hazy on this whole thing--if it doesn't work for you, I guess you could send me a save, I'll reinstall my game, and see if I can figure out how to do this. I'm sure this isn't the last time you'll have to do something similar...

That is the problem. They are both in inventory but they are on two separate pages which means I don't know how to switch over to the other page to put the knife on the cereal box.

Hi Renee,

The manual states - Move the cursor on the item you want to use and push the left mouse button quickly. ( A longer click will bring up the mushroom interface). The cursor should change to look like that object. To use that item with another in inventory box, simply place the object shaped cursor over the item you want to use it on (or combine it with) and press the left mouse button.

There are two arrows located at bottom left corner of the inventory box that let you scroll the contents left or right when one inventory page is full.

So, pick up the first item quickly (the cursor should change to that item), scroll to the page where the other item you want to combine it with and then click the item cursor over the combining item on the new page.
