Two elderly couples were enjoying friendly conversation when one of the men asked the other, "Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?"

"Outstanding," Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest psychological techiniques - visualization, association - it made a huge difference for me."

"That's great! What was the name of the clinic?"

Fred went blank. He thought and thought, but couldn't remember. Then a smile broke across his face and he asked, "What do you call that red flower with the long stem and thorns?"

"You mean a rose?"

"Yes, that's it!" He turned to his wife. . ."Rose, what was the name of that clinic?"

Five doctors went duck hunting one day. Included in the group were a GP, a pediatrician, a psychiatrist, a surgeon and a pathologist. After a time, a bird came winging overhead. The first to react was the GP who raised his shotgun, but then hesitated.

"I'm not quite sure it's a duck," he said, "I think that I will have to get a second opinion." And of course by that time, the bird was long gone.

Another bird appeared in the sky thereafter. This time, the pediatrician drew a bead on it. He too, however, was unsure if it was really a duck in his sights and besides, it might have babies. "I'll have to do some more investigations," he muttered, as the creature made good its escape.

Next to spy a bird flying was the sharp-eyed psychiatrist. Shotgun shouldered, he was more certain of his intended prey's identity.

"Now, I know it's a duck, but does it know it's a duck?" The fortunate bird disappeared while the fellow wrestled with this dilemma.

Finally, a fourth fowl sped past and this time the surgeon's weapon pointed skywards. BOOM!! The surgeon lowered his smoking gun and turned nonchalantly to the pathologist beside him.

"Go see if that was a duck, will you?"

A chicken and an egg are laying in bed. The chicken is stretched back smoking a cigarette with a very satisfied smile across his face. The egg is frowning and looking extremely frustrated.
The egg says, "Guess we answered that question."

A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she had selected the following items: A half-gallon of 2% milk, A half carton of eggs, A quart of orange juice, A small head of romaine lettuce, A 2-pound can of coffee, And a 1-pound package of bacon. As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier.
While the cashier was ringing up her purchases, the drunk calmly stated, "You must be single."
The woman was a bit startled by this proclamation, but she was intrigued by the derelict's intuition, since she was indeed single. She looked at her six items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about her selections that could have tipped off the drunk to her marital status. Curiosity getting the better of her, she said "Well, you know what, you're absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?"
The drunk replied, "'Cause you're ugly."

Abe and Esther are flying to Australia for a two-week vacation to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Suddenly, over the public address system, the Captain announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am afraid I have some very bad news. Our engines have ceased functioning and we will attempt an emergency landing. Luckily, I see an uncharted island below us and we should be able to land on the beach. However, the odds are that we may never be rescued and will have to live on the island for the rest of our lives!"

Thanks to the skill of the flight crew, the plane lands safely on the island. An hour later Abe turns to his wife and asks, "Esther, did we pay our $5,000 PBS pledge check yet?"

"No, sweetheart," she responds.

Abe, still shaken from the crash landing, then asks, "Esther, did we pay our American Express card yet?"

"Oh, no! I'm sorry. I forgot to send the check," she says.

"One last thing, Esther. Did you remember to send checks for the Visa and MasterCard this month?" he asks.

"Oy, forgive me, Abie," begged Esther. "I didn't send that one, either."

Abe grabs her and gives her the biggest kiss in 40 years. Esther pulls away and asks him, "What was that for?"

Abe answers, "They'll find us!"

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a genie comes out.

The genie says, "I'll give each of you just one wish."

"Me first! Me first!" says the administration clerk. "I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world." The genie snapped his fingers and poof, the woman disappeared.

"Me next! Me next!" says the sales rep. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life." The genie once again snapped his fingers and poof, the man disappeared.

"OK, you're up," the genie says to the manager.

The manager says, "I want those two back in the office after lunch."

A math teacher and his wife were both 54 years old. One evening the wife came home and found a note from her husband. It said: ''My dear, you are 54 years old and there are some things you are not giving me, so I am at the Holiday Inn with my 18-year-old student. Don't bother waiting up for me.''

He returns home that night to find a note from his wife: ''You are also 54 years old and there are things I need that you're not giving me. So I am at the Motel 6 with one of your 18-year-old students and you (being a math teacher) should know that 18 goes into 54 way more than 54 goes into 18, so don't YOU wait up for ME.''

A young couple trying to live up to a snobbish lifestyle went to a party. The conversation soon came to Mozart, "Absolutely brilliant....lovely....oh, a fine fellow.....a genius, Mozart was."
The woman, wanting to get in on the conversation remarked, "Ah, Mozart. You're so right. It was just this morning that I saw him getting on the No.20 bus going to Erdington." There was a sudden hush and all eyes were turned toward her. The husband pulled her aside and angrily barked, "We're leaving right now."

In the car on the way home the wife turned to the husband and said, "You're really mad about something aren't you?" "How could you tell? My goodness! I've never been so embarrassed in my life! You saw Mozart take the No.20 bus to Erdington, huh? Everybody knows that the No.20 Bus doesn't go to Erdington!"

Super Saturday ya'll puppy

Woke up to a nice cool morning. So did not want to get out of bed, but eventually talked myself into it.

Hubby and I are going to walk the doggies and get flu shots at some point today. Other than that, I think we will mess around in WoW, do some chores, and read my book. wave

I'm am exhausted! Way too much fun yesterday at the empty house. See Sorta's Neighborhood for a LONG story.

Gonna take it easy I hope today.

Found out my pain pills are now 'reclassified' so instead of just calling in a refill (I do it on computer) and having them mailed, I have to contact the pharmacy by phone, they will contact the doctor, he will contact me, and then I have to GO to him and get a HARD COPY prescription to take, in person, to the pharmacy, and wait for the prescription to be filled. They are trying to limit the misuse of pain medications. I wonder what happens if you can't get to the pharmacy in person because of your pain???? Really stupid new procedure, but without the pills, I can't function in an upright position for more than 15 minutes before I have to sit. Gotta be a better way to weed out 'abusers' of pain meds. Maybe I'll write a letter to someone suggesting something better. Can't imagine now every month calling, waiting for a call back, driving all the way to the doctor's office, waiting in line to get the 'copy' and then walking over to the pharmacy and waiting in 2 lines (usually 1/2 hour or more) to get my prescription. Geez!

Gotta find food.

Sorta, that has always been the procedure we've always had to follow, for all of my med. I agree...tis a pain and stupid.

We had a great walk with the monkeys. And then off to get flu shots. Got the last 2 in the store until sometime next week. Then a drive through Hardee's and holy moly they were slow. Finally feeding the doggies a very late breakfast puppy

Hi Sorta I've always had to do that when I get the strong pain pills~ I go to my pain DR every 3 months and he gives me 3-4 months worth of
scitps it's easier that way . it's all the junkies and pill abusers fault redface
they have made it so hard for people who really need them to get them mad

Hey ya Yankee yea OSO is Beautiful!

My word, Karen, that 24 pounder!!!!!!!!!!! Is he a maine coon cat because they get big like that. ShemerBaby, the 15+ pounder ate 2 cans of fancy feast this AM -that's all and if my kits saw a wild thing I believe they would faint. And there's lotsa woods and scrub on my land. After eating his breakfast he always tears up the house then about noon he has his pre-afternoon nap then whatever. Commander Buttons eats and goes outside -sane with the girls -1 stays outside, 1 stays inside. Right now Moira is sleeping in the forbidden guest room. I bought them a new pillow for them for the forbidden no-cat room.

I've just planted 2 garlic cloves and an onion -wish me luck. If you leave some onion on the root end of it, it will grow. Delicious. As for the garlic, I once read: People by the time your garlic has reached the stores, it's already a year old. And I believe it -cause they are dried out.

Lovely day today

So, what has everyone been up to recently. I have been doing a lot of reading. Love my Kindle. Great for downloading books.

Well, we are grilling out so must go see what I want to fix with our steaks.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Bets, so glad your new pup is a bright spot in your day. puppy

Sweet dreams SpaceQ.

Hubby and I ran out to buy a new mattress today. We really hated to do that since we spent a small fortune on one two years ago. It made us both so miserable to sleep on it that we decided we had no choice to get another. I really hope this one is better.

Did we all have a happy Saturday?
