I recently posted a auggestion to someone on a BFG forum that they consider visiting Gameboomers (specifically Mixed Bag) in order to connect with others to talk about personal issues since Chit-Chat was removed from BFG forums.( Someone had posted a personal message in a game forum and that message was allowed to remain.) My suggestion was presented in a polite manner. I included a link to Gameboomers. I received notice that I'd violated BFG Terms of Use and my post was removed. To be honest, I was a bit offended since Gameboomers promotes BFG offerings on a daily basis. I have to wonder if whoever moderated my comment simply noticed the link without bothering to read the content of my post. Or is the "no link" policy ironclad?

If I understand the Big Fish forum rules correctly, you are not allowed to link to other sites; if you want to link to other sites, you need to do so through private messages.

I guess what really bothered me was that, what amounted to a personal message, was allowed to remain in a game forum while a Gamebooomer link was removed. Thanks for the clarification, Marian. I'll know to use PM next time.

You're welcome. It can be a bit disconcerting when this happens; I understand. Different websites can have different forum rules and sometimes you just don't know.

They have a no link policy, the only way to be fair is to hold true and delete all links. They themselves sent their members to Gameboomers when they announced the closing of their chat. No offense taken here that they deleted the link. they also have a pond friends forum here that is probably better suited for you to direct them too also for chit chat. Less rules.

I recall - now that you mention it, Ana - that they referenced Gameboomers at the time. Guess that's why I thought it would be okay. But I'm not one to bother with the fine print. I have a tendency to believe, that by this time in my life, I know it all.
