Hi guys
I got a new laptop and someone stole it. I got it back but I can't log on because the person who took it must've have deleted me as a user and only their log-on comes up on the start screen. There is no switch user option. Is there a way to get her off and let me sign on. My laptop is a 15.6 " HP with Windows 8.

Thank you
Kim

Try the instructions for Windows 8 in this link...

Draclvr, I don't think that works unless you're already able to log in.

A password recovery utility might work.
The Ophcrack utility listed at the site below might be useful, since the description says it works with Windows 8 and works automatically.

However you do need to know how to download an .iso file and burn it to a disc (burn it as an iso -- don't just copy the file to a disc). You also need to know how to enter your laptop's BIOS and set it to boot to the DVD drive instead of the hard drive.

Duh! Followed by a forehead slap! Of course it won't work unless you're already able to log in. Sorry about the momentary lapse of brain cells, Kim...
