the only thing you can change is the number. Try that and I am going to try something on my game that's weird but it worked with Tex Murphy

already tried the # change but no dice. it only has the last official save I did on the game.

Then the one you need is after getting past the mummies and enter the inner room.

I will rename the save number 9 and send it to you. I learned you don't need the thumbnail just the save file but I'll send both.

It's possible GOG drm free saves are not compatible with steam. I'll guess we will find out.

I sent them, is the format the same? Steam may have done something different which causes a problem.

If it does not work I'll send you step by step instructions to get through that level. I wrote them down just case when I went through that this morning

This is strange. I see it my folder but it will not show up in the game. it only goes up to 8 :/

I'm guessing the drm that steam sticks in the game makes saves incompatible with other versions of the game.
Check your pm in fifteen minutes or so and I'll send you step by step instructions to get through that. It is not really hard if you know what moves to make.

I sent the pm. Take your time, nothing chases you until you stick that rod in the wall. The game gives you time to do what you need to do. It is just you get one chance to do the right thing. Make sure you save before using the rod. In that way if you need to try it over at least you don't have to do all that set up.

For those having trouble getting past the mummy in Room #5, as soon as you enter that room, QUICKLY click on the left lower corner so Gabe walks there, and then QUICKLY click on the middle of the bottom of the screen, and Gabe can then walk North into Room #6. In Room #6, QUICKLY "USE" the VINE that is hanging down, which puts you in Room #7. After regaining control, QUICKLY use the "snake rod" on the door at the right, NOT on the "hole" at the right of that door. This will take practice, but you WILL elude that mummy. ENJOY!

Hey guys I wanted to give you props, you have been helpful in my quest to finish the game. Now, I am still on day 10 but I can't figure out how to get the keycard to rescue grace. I can get the main bad guy(vodoo museum owner) out of his room but when I try to go to his room(I think its #2) I get a scene with maria(?) and her mother trying to her over. gah.

advice? I have checked all the rooms but can't seem to figure out which room is the one I need to get the keycard (and not die). thx

Hi Chobits,
The room with the keycard is in Room #3. There's a walkthrough for the original game which says it's Room #2. That is NOT accurate. I hope this helps.

Here is what you do. Go into the center room where the drums are. Select the rada code book in your inventory. clicking on the drums use the operate key with the rada code book. The book will show up, select Summon You will have to change pages to find the code you need. Then select Brother Eagle On the right of the page in the close up screen you should see those codes you selected listed one above the other. Then simply click PLAY that is seen above your code selection.

Gabe will then play the drums and you will get the message "You hear a door open" Exit to the left and go to room three John will be gone and you pick up the key. When you exit John's room go down to the next screen before John comes back. From there you can take your time he does not come after you.

well when I leave to the left I get a variety of doors: 9,11, and 1.

that i found out, so I died. I guess I got confused since I went to his room and he basically told me to leave(but he did not see me). that was one scary game!!!
