The problem is that getting Windows 95 installed in DOSBox is one thing, but getting games working well on it is another. It's interesting that they say Windows 95a and original (which are 16bit) work better than the later (32bit) Windows 95 versions.
It's also a lot harder to get Windows 95 working in DOSBox than Windows 3.1. Installing Windows 3.1 is like installing a floppy game, followed by video and sound drivers. You don't have to create a fixed drive image the way you do for Windows 95/98.
***VOGONS guide to installing Windows 3.1 on DOSBox***Virtual PC would probably work better for Windows 95 games, but what a pain it was to get it installed and running on Windows 8.1. I had to download a set of files meant for Windows phone, and had to hunt down an older version of that that was actually complete because newer versions were only meant to update what was there. Otherwise Virtual PC wouldn't work properly -- would crash as soon as I tried to do anything. VMware Player would probably also work, but I prefer the interface in Virtual PC.
