We want to have access to Netflix in our exercise room (an enclosed room we created within our attached garage). We have a flat panel TV mounted on the wall and I was wondering about using the Roku Streaming Stick (HDMI). I like the idea of the streaming stick because it's so compact. It's more or less a "thumbdrive" looking device that plugs into your HDMI port. No wires, no base unit and no electrical outlet required. We have Wi-Fi broadcasting through the house via a NetGear R6300 router which I'm hoping will be adequate.

So, since I value all of your opinions quite highly, does anyone have any experience with this Streaming Stick? If so, what do you think about it? I looked at the reviews and most were very favorable.

If you don't have experience with this particular device, do you have any recommendations on something else?

Cue...Good choice ...I have Roku devices on all 4 TV's in my home...

The streaming stick does everything the Roku 3 player does. Make sure you get the HDMI version... Its for HD TV's...

Enjoy its the Best...I get UTUBE which I get a lot of movies for free.

Thanks Ana and Darleen.

It's good to hear that you're enjoying the Roku, Darleen. Our TV is HD so I'm looking forward to getting the Streaming Stick. If it works well on this TV I'll probably get another one for the TV we have upstairs! happydance

Hey Darleen...

I bought the Roku Streaming Stick and I'm totally happy with the performance so far. It's so compact I can't even see it on the set when I'm watching TV. Netflix plays faster on my set with the Roku than my smart TV can!

Anyway, I have a question for you. I tried the YouTube app and noticed that the video only took up about 2/3 of the screen and an odd background could be seen on the area that it didn't cover. Is that normal?

headscratch
