Is there a patch needed? I can't get past the first part where Guybrush is with the pirate using the catapult. The game freezes there and I have to reboot in order to do anything.

Hi desertlilac,

There's a patch for this game from Patches Scroll . I don't know what it is for - check it anyway, Ok.

The other thing is you might want to do is to lower your video and/or sound acceleration. Your computer might be too fast for this older game.

Am in the bait shop now and looking to put dead bait in the scupperware -- what in the heck is scupperware. Have looked all over the bait shop and outside of it. Also soon will have to leave town to follow through but cannot find my way out of town. Any suggestions?

Hi desertlilac,

The scupperware (tupperware- get it!!) is in the bank lobby - I think its a freebie they're giving away (memory, memory, work!) Take it and this is where you place the dead bait so that the smell stays intact.

Thanks MaG hope it is still there as the bank has been blown up -- hope the game is not too linear. After I get all the goodies collected will I be able to then find my way out of town. So far I seem to be blocked at each place that I think is the road out of town to go to a mansion.

Hi desertlilac,

It's not really that linear - so you maybe able to get in the bank still by an inch of your skin.

I think the road to Ozzie's house will be clear after you've done lots of stuff in town.

Do you mean you can't click on it on the map?

Forgot to check the map to see if I could get to the mansion or out of town. Have been trying with Guybrush in town. I tried the bank and so far can not get in -- the police keeps coming and blocking the way. Might that scupperware be in another place? Think I will check around just to see. The manhole cover was unaccessable and the open window up high so far is not reachable re the bank issue. Have to keep at it I guess to find that scupperware

Ah, desertlilac - missed my very vague hint on the other post.

There's another way in the bank and you're in the right track. You said --- The manhole cover was unaccessable and the open window up high so far is not reachable re the bank issue.

So what can raise you high, higher, highest!!!

BTW, read the manhole cover, OK.

If you want spoilers - post. I'm having fun recalling this game.

Ok - still can't figure out how to get into that window -- NO NO don't tell me, but a gentle hint maybe? smile Have used all the items in my inventory and tried to combine a few but GT is still on the ground outside the bank. Have also been going around and yakking with people, have collected a few more things so all is not lost. smile

Maybe you don't have it in your inventory yet... Why don't you do some shopping while you're thinking.

The solution is the same principle as a drum.

Stuck again! Was playing just fine when today for some reason I cannot load the program -- my computer seems to just do nothing and the load game window continues without progressing. I can play the Monkey Game Curse of Monkey Island with no problem so am unclear as to what is going on with Escape from Monkey Island. Any ideas out there?

Lilac, this sounds more like a technical problem--I can't transfer your post down to our Glitches forum, because it is at the end of a long thread. Why don't you post this query down at Glitches?

Having said that, I am assuming that you've closed down everything but ctl-alt-del and tried turning down your video accelerator...
