i am playing now,(sherlock holmes:secret of silver earrings),i am at baker st.as dr.watson i have to go to the bookase,and take out any book,second from top shelf
but as i get there,the game does not work,i loose the hand curser i canot take a book,so please tell me what
goes on.

Move around and then go back to the book shelf.
Try clicking on any book on that book shelf.

Have you tried bringing up the book menu and scrolling on the left side of the book? See if it talks about bullets and also about the tobacco. If so, Dr. Watson will read it.

you canot do this as long he has not grabed a book it will
not be in his notebook

i instaled the game again,from 2 cd's,the previous was from
GOG downloaded its no good,but the cd's are good works fine
meanwhile i did not used your saved games,but now a new problem,i started the quiz,it works only up to question 4
because question 3 takes up allmost the whole page i am frozen,what should i do ?

Try playing with the different video options. Then replay that part and see if any of those changes worked.
If it persist, best to post at glitches and see.
