First I would unplug the modem for 1 minute,plug it back in and see if that helps.
If not,I would call your ISP tech.supt and see what they think. They usually have a lot of knowledge in this type of problem.The reason I said to unplug the modem first is because when you call them that's the first thing they will tell you to do.

Thanks Geo,I forgot to mention that I have three computers. One xp and two win 7. The only one I have trouble with is the xp The other ones are ok. Sorry about that.

Well, that's a bit strange. I have no idea - maybe it's just XP being XP.

There is a utility you can install to "watch" browser activities (URL's referenced, time to load etc...) called Fiddler - you might want to install it and take a look at what's going on under the covers.

You could switch connections on the router and see if the problem follows the switch.Other than that I would still call your ISP.

Can't be a problem with the ISP though if the Windows 7 computer is not having any problems with the internet connection.

I guess I didn't say it right.Even though it isn't their problem they know a lot about internet stuff and may offer some hints.

Some ISPs may or may not offer technical help with computer software issues. Some charge if the problem is not related to the internet connection. It's always best to ask just in case...

XP seems to be working good now. I reinstalled xp and I guess that fixed the problem thanks all.
