Hi gang ! I am at a impasse at Chapter 7 - I'm wandering towers and bridges but now I'm stuck on the wrong side of the tentacles - I don't know how I got here and I don't know how to get back to the beginning to try again ( or is it possible to get past the tentacles? ).

I can get to Kassim's shield but obviously did something wrong - so I'm asking for a saved game at Chapter VIII - the last chapter.

My saved game goes way back so I would appreciate a save at Chapter 8.

Please help ! Thank you.

I don't have any saved games for this - let's wait for someone who does.

I had to look for those on several external HD. laugh
My saves are not labeled. So I sent you the 4 saved game files.
They are large files - so I compressed them.
Uncompress the folder and be sure to renumber the files before placing them in the saved game folder. luck

Be sure that you have:
- talk to Bryda to know about the messenger's function and about the magic scroll.
- talk to Sir Wrathling, Nuri and group leader.
- then follow the messenger by looking (overhead map) where the moving light is located.
- once you located him - then use the spell.

I have gone to all the campsites clicked on the glow and that took me to the messenger and on each occasion I could not talk to him. I just keep walking by him.

During your talks to the characters I mentioned on the other post - did you find out where Fahi's daughter is located? Why you need to move the troops and give new order via the messenger?

One thought, have you tried different ways or position to talk to the messenger? It might be that your cursor is not active at the right spot.

I have tried everything I could think of to talk to the messenger to no advail. Fahi'daughter is in the tree but can't get to her out. I can't move the troops they say they have there orders from the messenger and they are to stay put.I went back to my saved game at VI should I go back any further to early saves. I got the Five complete achievement. I think it all has to do with the messenger not moving to the bog. Do you have any other ideas.I like the game and would like to finish it Thanks Bill

I wrote you where I found my saved game files.
See if you can find them there also.
My saves are located in: Drive C – Users – Computer name – AppData – Local - Daedalic Entertainment

Just by way of information, this is apparently a known bug that you have encountered, one for which GOG provides a patch. Here is what someone in a GOG forum says about this bug:

Quote:
The easiest way to prevent this bug from happening is to talk to the messenger only after you talked to the guy in bog and then send the messenger to the bog. Just make sure he can't cross the river or the bug will occur. Once you got the scroll you can finish the game without any bugs.

This is of course assuming that this is where you are in the game - it sounds like it.

I cannot send him after I talked to the man in the bog because he was never there and cannot get Odem Arcanum to get back to the messenger.

I sent you some saved games several days ago. Install those and see if it has the actions that you need.
- Download the attachement.
- Uncompress it.
- Renumber the files to be the last numbers in the saved game folder.
- Place the renumbered files inside the saved game folder.
Play and load those saved games to see which one works for you.
If you need more saved games - tell me.

If I click on the saved games in my documents folder it says that windows can't open these files. Do I have to install a program for the extension SAV.

Bill,

As soon as you installed the files in the folder.
Do the usual - play (open game) and load the files that are new.
Check and see if they are placed at beginning of load page or at the end. I am not sure where they will be positioned.
Do not open the files - the game itself opens it. luck
