Hey Jen, I did not know you were psychic! haha
How did you know I am getting blown up with the bra? I will try that running trick tomorrow when I get back into the game....thanks for the tip.
What fun!

Because I got blown up with the bra from very many angles in very many ways.
That bra means business. laugh
I forget if it's the Shift or the Control key that makes Nick run.

It is the control key - my only problem is going to be how do I grow another hand? For me it appears to take 3 hands to accomplish this task - My hands and my brain do not want to cooperate on the movements involved in this one = place bra, turn slightly right, run like h..l to the hole in the fence which all uses the space bar, left mouse button, left mouse button, track ball to turn a bit, up arrow key and CTRL key simultaneously to get the heck out of there - this one is going to take me a while to get done.....see ya later - maybe -.

This exploding bra scene started out to be funny, now it just sucks! No matter where I stand, how close or how far away before placing the bra, and no matter how fast I turn and RUN I just am not getting anywhere....Will keep on trying as I don't want to ask for a saved game (would not know how to load it in at this point) and I WILL NOT QUIT! Just wanted to vent a little. Thanks for listening.
Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou, now that you've figured out how to run, try making for the opposite back corner from where the bra is...

Hi Jenny, I am not so sure that I DO know how to 'run' - I have been practicing 'running' either forward or backwards to the spot I think you mean, and my speed, either walking or running, seems to be the same no matter if I use the CTRL key or not - so what could I be doing incorrectly? walking and running are the same speed when I hold down the CTRL key or don't hold it down. I have even tried 'running' backwards so as to eliminate the turning motion and it still takes me the same amount of time....
I had the brilliant idea to practice, practice, practice getting out of the way WITHOUT placing the bra just to see if I could manage this 'puzzle' but no matter what I do my end result is 'flying off to heaven' so to speak.

Hi Betty,
The shift key makes you run. Try that and see if you aren't faster.

Thanks, Kay--I was going to tell Betty Lou that, but I had to go to the doctor and pharmacy, and that ate up a couple of hours. Then I actually had to install the game twice to make it work right so I could check....GRRRR

But you're right, of course, it is the shift key. I don't have any trouble with this, because I use the mouse with my left hand...

Thanks Kay. I can't imagine where I got it wrong...this will probably work now.
Jenny, you too? Use the mouse with your left hand, and I use our trackball mouse with my left hand, leaves my right hand free to make notes as I am right-handed....have a very difficult time making myself use any other mouse and with my right hand it feels very awkward....Hope you are OK and nothing seriously wrong. Feel better soon.
Thanks you guys.
Love, Betty Lou
Yea! Yippee! It worked the very first try. Thanks much you guys.

Well, now that I know how to 'run' and ya know, running backwards was FUN! So, now I am having difficulty with climbing the pole and using the screwdriver on the vent cover.....it sorta goes like this and my end result is like an "Outer Limits" scene - stay close to the wall until I reach the pole, go stand in front of it as close to it as I can and carefully climb up it to near the end where the light fixture is - get as close to the vent as I can and be careful to hug the wall too - pop up inventory and grab the screwdriver - aim it on the front corner of the vent cover that is closest to me - naturally I drop the screwdriver - when trying to move the X cursor so I can pick it up again, as it lands on the light pole at my feet, if I am not careful I fall off the pole - first 3 or 4 times I 'died' and had to do this part over but last 50 tries when I fell off the pole I landed BELOW the pavement and everything is black and when I look up I can see the pole, the buildings and the fence 'floating' above me somewhere - but when I attempt to move myself back up to the right level it is like watching the afterburn of one of the rockets at NASA taking off and cameras showing what the scenery looks like below, and I appear to be either sinking further down under everything or headed to outer space....very freaky, so I hit ESC and have to try over again - anyone else have such an experience? Is this a 'glitch' in the game? This scene is going to take me days and days to accomplish, and I am getting VERTIGO up here on this narrow pole.....see ya around sometime soon - will let you know if I ever accomplish this.

You are having some strange experiences for sure, Betty Lou, but that front corner is where you should be looking. I finally got a chance to start this one tonight, but I'm still poking around in the Bar.

Glynn, I won't consider surgery either (I've had several episodes of blood clots), so that epidural is something I'll keep in the back of my mind. Thanks for the suggestion...

I'm beginning to wonder if those 'game gremlins' are poking at me - I did the ultimate BooBoo yesterday AM and deleted my saved game files.....and I HAD read the warning in both walkthroughs about just this very thing, but did it anyway, don't know where my brain went at that moment in time, but it sure was not where it was supposed to be or it went into a deep sleep.....have replayed the game from the beginning, saving lots along the way, and am now standing in that dreaded doorway trying to attract the attention of those darn dogs onto the duck and not me - someone said the hotspot for standing to 'toss' it is very hard to find and they are right... but very soon now I will be up on top of that light pole clinging to it for dear life....see ya later.

haha Jenny, it must be like seeing a sign that says 'wet paint' and reaching out to touch the area anyway just to see if it is true....I guess you and I aren't the only ones who hit that delet key on the right by mistake.....
Well, I finally made it up that pole, saved so I could return to same spot if I fell off, used screwdriver on the front corner of the cover and after about 10 tries figured out how to climb into that vent hole, then had trouble 'opening' the vent inside that pipe, but did that too, saved a lot along the way. Have made it now all the way to trying to outwit those &^%$#$% 'watch-robots', they are worse than the dogs, so many of them and they are so fast. Saving a lot here too, good thing there are unlimited save slots....this may take me a couple of days. Oh, well, say la vieeeee and Kay Sarah Sarah...

Ok, Ok - looky here now - SOMEONE, just has to have a cute trick up their sleeve for getting around these @#$%^&*&^%$#@ robot-guards.....just how the heck can I 'run' from cell to cell when they are too fast, and I can't tell just how many of them there are - and I am 'running' blind since I do not know the layout of that cellblock.....why can't I turn off the robots on those computer monitor/terminals? How can I shut them down? This may just be the 'puzzle' that does me in on this game - pooh! Who else has beaten these little devils and just how the heck did you do it? HELP!

I can't remember exactly what I did. But there are some side areas with computer terminals that are "safe" areas. I ran around the corridors in roughly a clockwise direction, ducking into "safe" areas. After the second one I ducked into, I turned left and ran down the hall, turning right at the end, and then around a few corners to the dead end, where there was a place to open the cell with the man in it. I had to try to time the runs according to the robots and got killed a lot. Once I got into the cell with the man, the rest was easy. You do turn the robots off, but you have to do it from downstairs.

Good Luck

Hi Betty,
I checked the layout of the prison cells after the robots were turned off, then loaded the save in the alcove where the eight monitors are. If you can make it there, save your game and turn around and watch the robots. You will see two go left at about the same time. Wait for both to come back. (The first one will pass in front of you when it comes back and in a few seconds the second will come back and go in another direction). Soon as the second one comes out, run left, straight down the hallway to the end, around the corner to the professors cell.

Sorry to hear you had to start your game again.
Hope this will help a little. Good luck!
Kay

Hi Kayc, you say that you checked out the layout after you turned the robots off - ~ - How did you TURN THEM OFF? Was it after you had freed the professor and had all the cell laser doors turned off? Or is there a way to turn them off BEFORE I go find the prof.? It sure would help if those robots were to 'die' for me FIRST! And thanks for the tip - if I have time today I am going to try what you suggest.....got a meeting this AM and it definitely will tire me out so may take a nap when I get home....see ya later

Hi Betty,
I had a save after I freed the professor. I loaded it to check out what direction to run, then I loaded a earlier saved game to watch the robots and see when I needed to run. The only cell door that is necessary to open is the one with the professor and the one beside it. Good Luck!

I am definitely going to need a LOT of luck on this one, as I am not getting anywhere, am going to keep on trying til I use up all my patience with it, then I think I will just sit here and cryyyyyyyyyyyy! I don't understand why they did not allow a way to get to the control panels for these stupid things and without making it too easy let one turn them OFF! mad

This is not working - sometimes when I am in one of the 'safe' cubicles I get killed anyway, don't know why.....I need specific instructions how to get 'downstairs' and where to go to turn off those ~ robots ~ so I don't have to deal with them anymore.....is there any way to do this?
Is it a very difficult and complicated process to take someone else's saved game and insert it into mine so I can "get on with it"?
Love, Betty Lou, just call me totally done in & frustrated

*Beware of the killer robots. Save at every stop. Open the lift doors and dash to the safe alcove with two chairs to your right. Watch the robots and time your run, dash to the left to the alcove with 8 monitors. Get ready for another long dash to your left, straight down the corridor to the very end then follow it around, it leads directly to Prokopiou's cell. Open it and wake him, he escapes.

Then go to the very next cell, open it and lift the bunk to reveal a secret room...

This was a very tricky part of the game. I thought I was getting nowhere until I suddenly found the end of the hall with the cell with the man in it. It was easy after that. Keep trying and I think you will eventually get it. I know it's frustrating because it seems you are making no progress.

Ah, Glynn, I will keep an eye out for you here, as I am sure you will have a few problems, as I did and as others did too. A couple of times I was very frustrated and about to give up, but Jenny and others have brought me to this point - have 'vanquished' those nasty robot-guards in the prison!
Jenny, that sure was weird = I found out if I oriented myself at that elevator core, you know, in the center, and watched the robots movements, as long as I was flattened up against the wall there they ignored me completely - so I worked my way around that elevator core until I could decide which hallway I had to enter and when that particular robot went the other way I ran like h..l and found the professor - now I am downstairs and have 'virused' the computer system but when I put the keycard back into the slot to go back upstairs it makes a noise, but I don't go anywhere - what am I doing wrong?
Love, Betty Lou

Great!!! Betty Lou, I knew you could do it. The lift should take you back up when you use the card. Make sure you are standing on the lift. I don't know of anything else you could be doing wrong.
