I've been able to manage most of the keyboard commands (some match the game explanations, some I've had to guess at). I'm at the beginning with NIco. Had the fight, climbed down to the alley and over the wall and picked up the wig. Walkthrough says to "look" at wig in inventory and note blonde hair. Action map shows "combine" icon. Says noting it triggers sports car dialogue. Page up and page down and all four arrows all move inventory up or down. Nothing "combines" or "notes" so no dialogue. Pressing the w-a-s-d buttons pulls wig out of main inventory, or puts it back. Nothing gives me the ionteraction necessary for the sports car dialogue. Help, please??

I really enjoy mornings. I just wish they came later in the day.

I haven't played this, but here is what Mags says about combining objects: "To combine items in inventory use the left action (2 boxes with an arrow) panel after selecting the items to combine..."

My recollection is you can examine items in your inventory. If you select the wig in the inventory, the "eye" icon should be available. Click on the eye and Nico will look at the wig and find the hair.

Thanks, guys! The walkthrough mentioned the box with arrows, but until you gave me the same answer, I didn't connect to it being the tab key. About "clicking" on eye icon, I'm hoping you mean pressing the "S" key because the game doesn't allow a mouse click. Anyhoo, thanks to you, I'm movin' on with the game. smile

Me, again. Ok, the "looking at the wig" thing worked, so I thought I had the inventory stuff figured out. I don't. I'm in Glastonbury with George and am supposed to combine the iron rod with the poetry book to remove the coins. Following directions, I highlighted the book. Directions say to press the "combine" button to bring item forward. I did. Zip. The only button that brings highlighted things forward is "S". And nothing seems to "combine" book and rod. Since I can't move forward without the coins off the poetry book, does anyone have a suggestion?

Please disregard the above. I'm able to proceed in the game so I'm thinking the "combining" is there but not obvious. Sorry for jumping the gun. smile

Apparently "combining" IS obvious, because I'm supposed to talk to Madame Zazie about silver and boxer shorts, have a vision of dragon fire and a man, and see Madame faint. After which there's a fire in the pub. All I get at Madame's is a leave menu arrow, meaning no conversation, no vision, no fire. Help?? frown

This means that you have not done something prior to this to trigger the scene.

I understand that it takes a while to get use to the control. I have a vague idea of what you mean by 'combining'. Are you having difficulty using the combine keys? The combine keys sometimes comes up when the inventory is open and not necessarily needed to be used. If you do think that something needs to be combine, scroll the inventory and when the item is selected press the combine icon to bring the item forward, then scroll the inventory items again to select which item you want to combine it with and the press the combine icon to see if will combine.

As for Madame Zazie, those above dialogue comes after she wants a personal item from Bruno to get a reading and also when you have obtained the silver to cross her hands.
Have you given her the silver if you have them already?

Keep us posted.

What I haven't done prior to trigger the scene is combine the iron pipe with the poetry book with the three silver coins attached to the front. Combining the pipe and book separates the coins from the book. The way I understand the instructions, you are to highlight (the item becomes larger and is circled, right?) one item and bring forward using the combine key (tab?). Thing is, presing combine key after highlighting prompts Geoge into a description of said item, but does not bring it forward. The only key that brings inventory items forward is my "S" key. And so far, no key on my board "combines" anything. Everything else in the game works, but that. Unless there's two keys to press (like forward arrow and shift to make the characters run)?

It took me a while to replay this part since I didn't have any saved game close to here.

1. Click space bar to bring up inventory. Once the poetry book is highlighted - circled - press S which shows the combine (2 boxes) icon at bottom of the action console found at bottom right action of the screen.
3. Then, the poetry book is moved away from the rest of the inventory items.
4. Scroll to get the metal bar highlighted on the rest of the inventory.
5. This time, press A since the combine icon is now on the left of the console. The inventory will disappear and you will see George do something. The Coins will now be in the inventory.

Good luck!

It worked, MaG! It worked! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just as a side note here, why do you suppose the designers made George scratch his head so much? Makes a person suspect he has head lice. smile

I've also been having a problem with the game crashing. Will be going along and next thing I have a tight woven, green straw mat looking thing instead of the game, and have to reboot. Because of this, I've been saving twice as much as needed. This also happens in Prince of Persia (a totally cool game!) Problem there, is, you have to play a long time before a save comes up. Anybody else having this problem?

I have heard of this problems at Glitches. Have you turned off all other programs running in the background when you play? Like antivirus with auto updates, scans etc.
