bought the disks today and they will not install. I downloaded the game around Christmas time so I know my pc has all it takes to play it. I asked for a refund and got the game off my pc. No problem. it was in french and I don't like to play games in French, and could not find a way to change it to English. Now, disk no 1 tells me to click on continue, after I have connected to Origin. But nothing happens after that. I tried to write the Code I got with the disks in my Origin account, but all It gets me is a free download!!! My Internet service is still recuperating from that 7 hours it took at Christmas time!!!All I want is the disks to install. Help on Origin does not cover this problem, at least I did not find it! Any idea?

I finally found help, had a "chat" with a person on Origin. I tried what he told me to do: disconnect from Origin, open disk, click on setup, a page opens, click continue. the disk should have started copying, but it didn't. Disk defective? My choices:try to exchange the disks or a download I will try the exchange first. Sorry to bother you with this. If you have a better solution, I would like to know Thanks

You could try using a disc checking utility like Nero Disc Speed to check the integrity of the game discs. Nero Disc Speed can be downloaded from
http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/

It says that when you install it?
I thought I used it in Windows 7.

Never mind.
Try one of the checkers listed here
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001090.htm
or here
http://mp3.about.com/od/cdanddvdsoftware/tp/Free-Disk-Scanning-Software.htm

Or just try manually copying the contents of the game DVD's to a folder on your hard drive and see if there is a read error.

Don't download anything from CNet because they put adware in their downloads.

Would it be possible that something from the download I did on Dec 23 is left over after the refund I got and I desinstalled the game? In the Origin File I see a lot of Dec 23 files. And one of these leftover files would stop the DVD from starting?

I guess it's possible -- if the game thinks it's already installed because something was left in the registry, it might not install again. Of course you'd expect some kind of message if that were the case.

But considering there are people who never bought the download and are having the same problem with installing from the discs, I suspect the problem is with the discs, or possibly the installer they used. There is a 12-page thread in EA forum where people are having problems installing Dragon Age: Inquisition.
http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inqu...ks/td-p/3994683

A few people found things that helped. Philipposmagnus said on page 9 of the thread

Apparently even people with the console version are getting bad discs

Thank you Jenny100, you found the solution. Install Origin from the DVD over the old program, it updates itself and the rest is mostly automatic. My game is installed without problems and plays perfectly. Thanks again.
