Work is the curse of the drinking classes.
Oscar Wilde
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are a few excerpts of funny letters to landlords.
The toilet is blocked and we cannot bathe the children until it is cleared.
I want some repairs done to my stove as it has backfires and burnt my knob off.
This is to let you know that there is a smell coming from the man next door.
The toilet seat is cracked: where do I stand?
I am writing on behalf of my sink, which is running away from the wall.
I request your permission to remove my drawers in the kitchen.
Our lavatory seat is broken in half and is now in three pieces.
Will you please send someone to mend our cracked sidewalk? Yesterday my wife tripped on it and is now pregnant.
Our kitchen floor is very damp, we have two children and would like a third, so will you please send someone to do something about it.
Could you please send someone to fix our bath tap? My wife got her toe stuck in it and it is very uncomfortable for us.
50% of the walls are damp, 50% have crumbling plaster and 50% are plain filthy
Will you please send a man to look at my water. It is a funny color and not fit to drink.
It’s the dogs mess that I find hard to swallow
I wish to complain that my father hurt his ankle very badly when he put his foot in the hole in his back passage.
Funny Letters to Government Agencies
1. Dear Sirs, please stop my assistance since I got a job begging in October
2. I am writing the Welfare Dept. to say that my baby was born 2 years old. When do I get my money?
3. Mrs. Jones has not had any clothing for a year and has been visited regularly by the clergy.
4. I cannot get sick pay. I have had 6 children. Can you tell me why?
5. I am glad to report that my husband who was reported missing is dead.
6. This is my eighth child. What are you going to do about it?
7. Please find for certain if my husband is dead, as the man I am living with can’t do a thing until he knows.
8. I am very much annoyed to find you have branded my boy as illiterate. This is a dirty lie. I was married to his father a week before he was born.
9. In answer to your letter, I have given birth to a boy weighing 10 pounds. I hope this is satisfactory.
10. I am forwarding my marriage certificate and my 3 children, one of which was a mistake as you can see.
11. Unless I get my husband’s money pretty soon, I will be forced to lead an immortal life.
12. My husband got laid off from his job 2 weeks ago, and I haven’t had any relief since.
13. You have changed my little boy to a girl. Will this make any difference?
14. I have no children yet as my husband is a bus driver and works night and day.
15. In accordance with your instructions, I have given birth to twins in the enclosed envelope.
16. I want my money as quick as I can get it. I have been in bed with a doctor for 2 weeks and he hasn’t done me any good. If things don’t improve I will have to send for another doctor.
(In response to the question, “Why have you applied for public assistance?”) My husband left me last month and I am in need of ass.
My friend Shane came by while I was napping on the couch, and when he knocked on my door, I thought it was thunder. snicker
I have to go pick up my prescription at Kaiser today. I'm dreading it for two reasons. One is that stupid mandatory ONE hour wait till you can get it. Crazy rule for pain killer meds. Second is that we have a major measles outbreak around here (started in Los Angeles Disneyland) and now 2 clinics have been shut and 'sanitized' because people walked in with active measles and it spreads so easily. Ugh. I don't want to be anywhere around anyone who might have them. Then again, my chances of getting measles is very low since I've had both kinds and should be immune. Still.... scared
Fantastic Friday ya'll puppy
Been up for awhile on this icky, gray, wet day. Hung out in the kitchen near the coffee doing some research and some mad scientist-ing. Let the dogs in and out a lot...they seem to think the rain will stop if they look out there often enough lol
Our cable has been bad for a week. Have an appointment for later today. We shall see if they show up as they usually call first, and as our phone is through the cable company, it is not working right either. Hope they don't call and then list us as not home and not come. Wish we had a choice of providers, but sadly, we don't.
Boys will be here in a bit. Both are sick sad
Back later wave
Oh gosh, Sorta be careful, be veeeery careful. Measles in adults is dangerous. It was on the radio yesterday and the day befor.
It's still raining!!! 2 days now. I went to Lexington thin morning and the pastures along 696 are flooded. Cows all on high ground.
Dining on cold coffee, gardein beef strips -they could improve on this one- and spinach leaves with cottage cheese. And it's yummy. And a nectarine. It sounds like alot but that's breakfast and lunch.
I'm getting better at Mordor, like running away better. And hiding. It's still a fine game. Inquisition has long been neglected -no regrets.
Kits all sleeping, cozy, warm and overfed.
Hi all. I worked this morning and then came home and took a short nap. I guess I needed it. Now I'm off to the chiropractor's to get adjusted, then to the store for a few things. We're getting some snow tomorrow. I'm not pleased. So I thought I'd go get what I needed today, so I don't have to go tomorrow. Ana I hope your Dr's appointment went well this morning.kissy
Miidgie hearts
Just do it.
Managed to get my pills. Whew! What a day. Got there easily, stood in a LONG line to start the process. Had great chats with others in line. Fun to do. Got to the window and they couldn't find my 'hard copy' prescription form. Made me go across the 'campus' up the elevator (can't do the stairs) check in to the Doctor's. Sit and wait for the nurse to come out with my prescription, sign for it. Back down the elevator, back across the campus. Stand in another LONG line to hand it to the start gal. As usual was told it would be one hour. Went to Costco, couldn't find parking spot! Terrible but the store wasn't crowded? Weird. Got my stuff, got back to the pharmacy late. Checked in again at the first window to see if they had called my name (they actually announce your name and a window to go to). If you miss the call, your prescription goes into a special 'no show' box. I had been called, was sent to a LONGER line for pick up. Finally got my pills and the good part is that they were HALF the price they were last year. OH BOY! I'm happy.
