Hi Guys

I thought I would play this game again, I have loaded it but when it runs the characters are just silhouettes even after the cut scene, I have recently changed my Graphics Card to a ASUS Radion AD 7790 and had a SSD fitted other than that my PC is the same AMD FX Quad Core Processor with 8GB RAM, anybody got any idea's as to why the graphics are not displaying correctly, apart from that everything else is fine

Cheers
SAFC

Have you tried the official fix?
http://revolution.co.uk/support/

It only works on the boxed copy, not the digital downloads.

Oh, I remember that error. For me, neither the patch nor the affinity-setting described in that support could fix it.

The only way to make characters look right was to config Windows to load PC with only one CPU core (through msconfig)!

Hi Guys

I have tried both, the patch did not work and bs4pc.exe (as per the instructions from the web site) is not showing in the Processors tab in the Task Manager, so it looks like this one is going back on the shelf, many thanks for your held
Cheers

It's possible that the copy "protection" on the disc is preventing the game from working properly. Originally failed copy "protection" could be relied on to tell you to "Insert Disc" if the disc check failed. But by the time BS4 was released, those days were long gone. Instead the copy "protection" would fail without letting the gamer know, causing severe game bugs and never displaying any message pointing to the cause of failure. Google "SecuROM trigger functions" to find out more. Of course only legitimate paying customers were inconvenienced by this.

The only way to check whether the copy "protection" is causing the problem is to try a DRM-free version of the game -- or at least a version without the disc-based SecuROM. Sometimes using a NoCD will fix problems that appear to have nothing to do with a disc check. Or try a download version from a site like GOG or Steam that won't have a disc check -- and will often be updated to work on computers with multiple core processors, new model video cards, and other issues that may have arisen since the game was released over 8 years ago.
