Hi again.

Regarding the 3 E's grid puzzle:

Is it one food with one engagement across from it and one emotion with one engagement going down.

Not sure how to ask this part but in the first grid do the emotion and fruit answer share a box or are the columns and rows kept separate with the across and down engagements. For instance if you check apple/happy does that answer have to fit going in both directions or does the apple just go with the answer to the right and the happy just go with the answer to the bottom?

And is each answer different or can there be two of the same answer with one blank (say two happy's and no sad's)?

Before you do this puzzle, learn the memory aid of the man in the Collection room.

Each 3x3 square is comprised of what is on the top and left side.
There are 3 of those 3x3s.
- fruits with emotions.
- fruits with animals-characters.
- emotions with animals-characters.

The intersected square answer fits only what is on top and what is on the left.

One 3x3 does not have duplicate answers because each one of those squares (made up of left and top) differs from one another.

Other 3x3s can give clues to answer another 3x3s. luck

Thanks MaG. I'll give it another go based on your answers and see what I come up with.

I took the easy way out and did a trial and error thing with the objects themselves as I just wasn't sure I was understanding the grids. Apparently they were not required. Did I miss something by not solving that?

As long as the old man recalls the event and gives an old book to you - then you're okay. smile
