I wouldn't know how to do a slider OR Rubick's Cube if my life depended on it. crazy Can someone teach me how to do the SLIDER in the lecture hall in Venice "Gratis Accepistis Gratis Date". I don't want to ask for a save, but I need someone to walk me through step by step so I can learn. I assume the puzzle is not random for each game, is it? Anyone have a wt for this slider? Just a thought. TIA kissy

Sincerely, Sam

While waiting for someone to help you - you can try this:

Number the squares in your mind:
top: 1-4
middle 5-8
bottom 9-12.

Then do these slowly and carefully:

This is a long way around but it arranges the tiles row by row.

Move the tiles that are in the mentioned numbers below.

First row arrangement, move tile in position:
8 7 11 12 8 4 3 7 11 10 9 5 6 2 3 7 6 5 9 10 11 12 8 7 6 5 1 2 3 7 6 5 9 10 11 12 8 4 3 7.
Second row arrangement, move tile in position:
6 5 9 10 11 7 6 10 9 5 6 10 9 5 6 7 11 10 9 5 6 10 11 7 6 10 11 7 6 5 9.
Third row arrangement, move tile in position:
5 6 7 8 12 11 10 9
Again - 5 6 7 8 12 11 10 9
5 6 7 11 10 9
Again - 5 6 7 11 10 9
Once more - 5 6 7 11 10 9
5 6 7 11
12 8 7 6 5 9 10 11 12.
Place the tile back at bottom right. Sylvie hears a grind.

Sam, MaG's solution might be all you want. However, if you want a tutorial, you might find this article useful:

Dear MaG and ronrob, You two are awesome. Both solutions give me what I need. One should solve the immediate problem and both should teach me how these things work. Thanks to you both. happydance

Solving those puzzles is a question of technique or lots and lots of patience.

Justadventure, as mention by ronrob, explains the technique, also here you find a detailed tutorial for that and other puzzles plus some "amenities"

Thanks gang. I got through the puzzle and am now off to clean the chronometer. happydance BTW, patience is probably my biggest problem. I can go for awhile, then my frustration level over rides my desire to keep trying. When God was passing out certain skills and personal attributes, such as patience and problem solving, I must have been absent that day. Thank you all so much. I'll keep trying. wink

Sincerely, Sam

Thanks in advance

Hi smulan,

A save for the main slider is on its way. The second ring slider is not a typical one, you might enjoy solving it, so enjoy playing and let us know if you get stuck with that one. luck

I dislike sliders, but the one in this game is rather easy because it is a word puzzle, not a picture puzzle. I found it to be much easier to line up words which sort of stick in my mind. With pictures even though I see some elements that line up for awhile they get mixed up again as I switch them around. So much more frustrating than words!

Thanks for the savegames. (From two friendly boomers, this is a great community)

I dislike those sliders...to put it mildly. Are there any gamer who actually enjoys them?
