Is there any way to get this guy out of bed so I can trigger the scene with Greta? I've tried both characters, but still he snores away. Really don't know what else to do, have tried everything.
I know I asked all the questions, so can't imagine what the problem could be. I see others have had trouble. If a saved game is the only way out, sure would appreciate it. Thanks.

I had to restart the entire game to get the scene with Greta. I think I narrowed down what the trigger is for this part of the game. I think it's from talking to the cook and learning that the supervisor received a crate one late evening. Of note I can't remember the exact timing of this conversation but I know it was quite a long time after getting him drunk. As the first time I played the game I had no such conversation and wasn't able to get the scolding from Greta though the second time when I did I did get the scolding from her. I'll have to see if I still have my saved games and see if can find the exact timing I had this conversation.

hope this helps,
Brian

Am replaying this game and was not stuck at this part the first time. Now, I am wondering does the stuckness have anything to do with the rose bookmark? Reason I ask is that I have the book in inventory but not the bookmark. What the heck happened to the bookmark? Think I didn't examine it when I picked up the book and the rose on that bookmark must be what triggers the tray to appear so you know to put the blood on the rose on the tray :confused? Can't remember having a problem with the bookmark the first time I played this. Is there a trick to getting the bookmark out of the book?

Hi Joanie,

The bookmark is labelled 'pamphlet' in inventory. If it is not there, then I should give you a saved game. It really must be read and for comments made about Jude's attachment to paranormal stuff for the blood on the rose to work.

That is really my thoughts about the trigger for the game BUT it has to be Darrel that would formulate it. Try to have Darrel read the pamphlet-bookmark and then he talks to various people about Jude's leaning towards that way of thinking especially the maid.

Had Darryl read the pamphlet. No dice. Can only find the drunk cook, the maid at the ironing board and the caretaker at the boiler in the basement. All of those had been approached with the supernatural bit. I am sure I discussed Greta's abilities with the cook previously. I may not, however, have been able to discuss the supernatural bit with Greta before she conviently disappeared. Maybe I'll wander back to a previously saved game and see where I can locate Greta. Perhaps insuring that the supernatural has been discussed with EVERYBODY is the trigger as someone suggested. However, am playing Tony Tough (kind of bored with that game) at the same time with Pharaoh's Curse and Secret of the Scarlet Hand waiting in the wings and not sure if I want to spend too much extra time with Watchmaker again.

Hi guys, I'm baaaaaack! I am stuck same place you all are - I DO have the pamphlet/bookmark but don't remember if I have done more than just look at it - maybe I better go back into inventory and actually read it......but you say that is not the trigger to finding Greta, mmmmmm. Have talked to Carla in the laundry (as Victoria, she will not talk to Darrell), have seen the drunk cook as both D & V and he is snoring away, (Darrell says he won't wake up until morning!), did not try the boiler room yet, but had Darrell go to the lounge and talk to Mr. Anderson (Greta is not there either), don't know where Jude is so can't talk to her.....wonder why Greta chooses to play 'hide and seek or find me if you can'. Does not anyone ever report that Raul is dead in the crypt from sand suffocation? Poor guy, is he just going to lay there and rot? Have I missed anyone? Don't think so....so what to do now? HEY GRETA, COME OUT COME OUT WHEREEVER YOU ARE! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />
Love, Betty Lou

Greta is in the storeroom in the kitchen. Judy is still working out in the gym.

O.K., let me lay this on you all. Still going through the wt and comparing notes here. The wt was talking about Krehm's diary. I didn't remember reading that info. Checked and do have the diary in inventory but I can't open it to read it. Have right and left clicked and moved diary all around. Won't open. There was so much said when Victoria went to the arcane that I can't remember if it was just automatic that the info from the diary was automatically read out. Or, am I supposed to get the diary open?

Joanie - I also replayed the part in that gloomy room. When Victoria looks at the ancient diary on the altart - that gets read but not picked up. When Victoria looks at the suitcase, she automatically picks out Krenn's diary and automatically reads it with all the loong cutscenes involved in the reading. Then The diary can not be read again.I think that already counts that you know what is inside the diary.

Thanks MaG. That sure was a help and I am now Victoria trying to do what I can to save Darrell....not getting past Krenn though. Don't suppose you could put me in that room where the bloody trail leads without getting killed by him could you?
I wrapped all my Christmas Presents today, and we are still 'spreading' the tree.

Betty Lou, Mags is off for the evening--here is a quote from her walkthrough. If that doesn't get you past this sticky spot, post again and I'm sure she will be able to help you tomorrow...SPOILER

Stand behind a column. Look close (space bar) and see Darrell tied up on the right side. Look at the path of the streak of blood to the left side of the room and goes in an open entryway. Carefully inch up to 4 steps behind that column - press space bar and watch Krenn. See him look around to your side, look at the clock and then look at the other side. As soon as he looks at the clock, press space bar to get out of first person view and RUN (Shift key + forward or Caps lock and right click) to the open hallway where the blood is. If not successful, a view of the bullet coming is seen and game ends.
