The walkthrough for Egypt II tells me to download the patch before playing the game. When I click on the link to do so, it keeps going to a webpage where it wants me to buy something. I don't want to buy something; I want to play my game.

Do I have to have this patch to play the game? If so, how do I get it and not all of that advertising?

Do you have the version of the game that Dreamcatcher put out? If so, you don't need the patch...

I believe so, but I'll have to check when I get home. I purchased Egypt and Egypt II in a double pack at Wal-Mart. Most of the games I buy are made by Dreamcatcher, so I'll be surprised if it isn't. If not, I'll let you know. Otherwise, I'm okay.

Thanks so much.

I do have the Dreamcatcher game, but it still locked up on me when it came time for me to play the drums. I've downloaded the patch and will try it later this week. If I still have a problem, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, I did want you to know that it doesn't seem to matter if you have the Dreamcatcher version or not.

Thanks so much.

If you are still having trouble with the drums after downloading the patch, try turning your graphic accelerator down. Good luck...

I have the Cryo version and applying the patch did not help me, the game froze at the drum part. If needed, I have a saved game just past the drum part (gotten from a fellow GBer), so just post again if you want it.

Hi Kszanz wave ........The patch link that is in the content of the walkthrough (mine) was rendered useless when CRYO went out of business. The link Jenny used above is a reinstated version of that link. However, keep in mind that you can get around the drum puzzle by enduring a number of repeated tries. At that point, the Chief Musician will let you pass.

Happy gamin'.......Witchen

How do I get him to let me pass? I've tried numerous times; my daughter has tried numerous times; and my son-in-law has tried numerous times without success. After repeated tries, my screen starts moving. I then click the hand, and the guys tells me to try again. Sometimes the game hangs up.

There has to be a solution. Otherwise, I'm not going to finish this game.

By the way, I believe I didn't realize that you had to use key strokes to do the drums (left and right shift keys). That's why I couldn't get it to work. Therefore, the patch probably wasn't necessary since I do have the Dreamcatcher version.

Thanks so much for your help.

I haven't played this one, but the people who have just say that after you've beat those drums for a while, the guy gives up and lets you go on. Maybe it would help if you went back to your last saved game and played up to this again--sometimes that shakes things loose...

Van,

One of our members found out that by pressing ESC several times while the doing this puzzle will prompt the man to let you forgo the drumming. It has worked for a lot of the other gamers. wave
