Hi, everyone!

I feel the end is near <sniff, sniff> to this wonderful game. I'm wandering around aimlessly in the catacombs. I've lit a candle, turned on all of the lights (I think), found a map, covered up the abyss and have been stabbed through the head a couple of times by sharp objects <G>! I'd sure appreciate a gentle push in the right direction.

Thanks!

Susan

Hold the map up to the lit candle and you will see a pattern for which of the lights need to be turned on.

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

Hi, manxman!

Oooooooh! I never would have thought of that in a million years. I took a quick look at the map and it wasn't much help, so I haven't bothered with it since. Thanks!

I guess I should turn them all off and start again?

Susan

Hi, MaG!

Thanks! That's a lot easier than turning them all off and on again :-)!

Hi, manxman & MaG!

I just finished "The Black Mirror" and the ending was strange, to say the least. It would have been nice to see flashbacks of the murders because I don't understand the motives of the murderer (other than he was obviously insane <G>).

Now I'm gonna install "Darkfall" and play that until "Conspiracies" hits the shelves.

Thanks again for your help!

Susan

Susie,
Wasn't the ending a stunner?
I sat watching the credits go by and couldn't even think.
Yep, the evil caught up, but our "hero" ended the evil by his heroic act of completion.
I'm trying to be nice here. Still in a little shock I think.
Dark Fall is fantastic-ranked #1 on my list of best "dark" mysteries.
Have fun

Hi, Ingie!

I actually bought "Darkfall" before "The Black Mirror", but played the latter first because of all the hype and the fact that lots of people were playing. I think I made the right decision <G>! I was a member of the now defunct GAMERS forum on CompuServe, and it's a lot more fun playing with other people than all by your lonesome.

I'm looking forward to "Darkfall", and will play that until "Conspiracies" hits the shelves (hopefully, some time next week). Then I'll join the throngs playing that one. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the DVD version to work. I was never successful with "Overseer" because it was designed to run on a Creative Labs DVD-ROM drive, and that's not what I had at the time.

This really should be at adventure games discussion but the thread is already so long with games hints and shoves.

Follow me over there and I'll see if I can move things around,OK. Give me some minutes and I'll see what I can move.

Hi, MaG!

Sounds like a plan to me :-)! I'm sure there are many others who would love to discuss the whys and wherefores of the storyline itself.

I am currently playing BLACK MIRROR stuck at the "grandfather's clock" in robert's room in chapter 5. I am just wondering how to get through that ... i found a piece of paper saying 6,3,0,8,1. I have no clue how to work the clock. Can someone help me please?
I keep seeing that there's a walkthrough somewhere, can somebody give me the link please?
THANKS SO MUCH~~~~~~~~

Hi, qt247!

If you look closely around the room, you should spot some roman numerals. They will give you a clue for the clock.

Good luck!

We have a separate walkthrough page - the link is at top of each forum page and you can look at all the list there for other games. There are 2 walkthroughs for Black Mirror - check both.

The paper is a clue for what you open when you solve the clock puzzle.

Clock puzzle - Look and click on the Roman numerals above the middle bookcase. That is what you need as a clue for the clock puzzle. Just click on the hands of the puzzle to enter what you think the clock should be set to. If correct, then the needle above the dial will rotate and Samuel will say something. Also you will hear a sound of something opening. Good luck!
