Hi everyone. I woke up early this morning and have been sitting here staring at my monitor, realizing how many games I have installed and I think that I need to make a confession. I'm addicted.

I don't know why I can't have only one game installed at a time, or why I can't concentrate on and play only one at a time, but I think I need help because I have all of these installed:

Barrow Hill (replaying, I LOVE this game)
Secrets of Atlantis: The Sacred Legacy
Last Half of Darkness: Shadow of the Servants
Riddle of the Sphinx
Delaware St. John 1 (replaying, I love this game too)
Blackwell Legacy
and
Sherlock Holmes the Awakened

Am I getting out of control or what? lol! Last night I was looking at ALL of my games here on my desk and wondering if I had enough space to install ALL of them so that I could play them at will and on a whim....Good Lord! smile

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this. But, if I am, then come pick me up and take me to the asylum, I can't stop myself!

Cat, wanting to play all of the games at one time and wishing she actually COULD! evil

Cat,
I can't say that I've got a lot of games installed on my computer; I've got enough of a problem remembering from game-playing time to game-playing time what I'm doing in ONE game. HOWEVER, my games to be played are all over the place! lol They're downstairs in a cabinet, downstairs on a bookcase, under my bed in storage bins-2 of them-and scattered all over the rest of the house. The way I play, I'll have to live to 100 to get anywhere NEAR completing all of them!

The answer is....chocolate! Who cares what the question is.....

Cat -- I hesitate to admit this, but...when my hard drive fills up, I just buy a new computer. I now have four computers, from Win 95 to Win XP, all but the latest with hard drives chock full of games.

You are not alone!

Becky, Good Gracious! Fang yells at me because I have 2 computers and I only saved my 98 so that I could play all the old software in my BAAGS pile. You have helped me feel good about myself. I was feeling selfish.

I feel better too, now. I have a Windows 95, a Windows 98, a Windows ME, and a Windows XP. And let's just say that I don't use them to do spreadsheets. lol

WOW! I had no idea that the gaming addiction could go this far! I've never had more than one computer and one game going at a time. Multiple computers with so many games installed just blows my mind. I do have extra games on hand to be played (and some on order) but not to this extreme. Am I just a little BAAGie in comparison?

To love is to be happy with!

Catbelly36, you are not alone laugh
Not only do I have multiple games installed on my PC (at the moment, amongst others, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, Faust, Keepsake, Time Stand Still, Dreamfall, NeverWinter Nights (an RPG), Zoo Tycoon 2, several demo's and a beta or two, I also have a couple of gameconsoles on which I am playing games such as Discworld and Glass Rose on my PlayStation, Still Life on my Xbox and Phoenix Wright on my Nintendo DS...

Every now and again I try to promise myself and my husband that I will really definitely finish a game before starting a new one, but I almost never succeed. laugh

I play one game at a time. Whats the rush? I work between 8 and 12 hours a day, I dont have the time like I used too. Now I even forget where I leave off when I stop. Use to play them about 6 hours a day straight till real life got in the way..

Becky---LOL! I feel better already! <BG> And yes, let's stroll into a game world and hang out over coffee...this addiction thing really needs to be discussed, pronto! wink (or, we could just discuss the next game we're gonna buy. LOL)

thanks PolloDiablo! SO glad I'm not alone! And in listing my games I forgot to mention the various demos, the Nintendo DS games, the GBA games, and the Playstation 1 and 2 games I have hanging around. I think we both have issues, but only in a good way. lol wink

PS I noticed you mentioned Glass Rose. I'd heard that was only coming out in Japanese...did they go ahead and make an English version? I would LOVE to play that game someday if they did! smile

Catsmom---You're normal and we're just nuts, that's all. LOL No but seriously, I've been going to school part time and not working so I've had lots of free time recently. When I was working full time AND going to school I don't think I even looked at a game for months. (Guess I'm making up for lost time. lol)

Yes, there is an English version for Glass Rose, but I'm afraid it's PAL only so you can only play it on a European PlayStation...

Cat, I'm curious as to how many you have stowed away. I had 6 huge boxes full of games in my basement, there was about 2000 of them. I sold alot of them, I still have alot too. I was going through some and found the very first Leisure Suit Larry game, that I bought when it first came out. I don't want to think about how long ago that was. wave

Hmmm... well, I don't have enough space for more than one computer; everything's stacked on top of the dining table as it is - if I wave my knife & fork around too enthusiastically the printer tends to get a whack. lol I only ever play one game at a time, although I do keep favourite games installed for months after I finish them, just in case I feel like a replay.

Catbelly - you are not alone. I have two computors now. An older one with windows 98 for those really nice older games (safecracker, crystal key) that wont play on the new windows, and my almost new computor with all the bells and whistles for the newer games. However I feel left out, and almost ashamed I only have around 60 games. Have to change that I guess. I havent told my husband yet, but I have secretly been looking at a super gamers computor with even more bells and whistles. Have to wait for the right moment to tell him. Nice to know there are people like me. Are we closet gamers? whistle

I think it is ok to make our home computers into game museums (even as grand as Prof Windelnut's museum in Shivers if we could!) Once we boot up, we could visit any game that we desire.

Catbelly35, there's no need to feel guilty about it. Go ahead and spoil yourself.

Rushes, you are funny. laugh My house is actually quite small, but somehow I've managed to find space for the computers---the less important things like clothing and what-have-you get shoved to one side. wink

Catbelly,
Kinda sneaks up on ya doesn't it? I think we've all probably had that "Holy Cow" moment.
It's just good, clean, non-fattening fun as far as I'm concerned, and I absolutely refuse to feel guilty. wave

Right now I have 6 games loaded on the old laptop. That number isn't including the games I've kept on the hard drive that don't need a disk to play.(Like Safecracker and the MCF games) I just did a computer index of all of my games and came up with the huge number of 101 in my collection. I almost had a heart attack!!! Out of that number there are about 15 that I want to get rid of. The rest are keepers.

I also have more than one computer(5) lol
Each one has a few more bells and whistles than the previous ones so I can play a game no mater what the requirements are. I also have a win 98se also. Don't ask me how many game I have I've been afraid to count them. If I don't know I can't lie to my husband. laugh

So long as you hover around 100 or so - no worries...

I collect MAME images (the old video arcade games) from time to time, last time I checked I had nearly 1000 of them help

I have a ME and an updated XP and a Playstation 3. I don't have too many games because I give them to my children and grandchildren when I'm finished. Riven, Exile, Oblivion and Morrowind will always remain with me. And the Rhems. A few games I've destroyed in fits of rage but not too many. Probably have 30 games now with 3 installed on ME and six on the XP and two on Plystn.
