I really loved to play this game, it's a lot of fun!

The graphics look like the ones in Ankh (same game engine).
Many characters to interact with and funny dialoques.
Lots of references to other adventure games.
The game is quite long and has extra's that makes it worthwhile to replay it.
The difficulty level I would call is medium, not too hard but often original.

On the downside:
Loading times are quite long.
Inventory items sometimes hard to recognize with some background colors. (Could be a problem with my middle-aged Videocard)

This is a game really worth waiting for, for all off you not speaking German!

Hi Bernard --

Thanks so much for the mini-review! thumbsup

We're expecting the game to release in English by the end of 2007.

Bernard, if you are fluent in German you should try playing Alühn. It's a free point and click adventure game about a couple of guys on a quest for beer. I don't speak German myself but I'm really enjoying playing it. They are creating an English version right now and Alühn 2 is in the works. The graphics are really good and it's not a bad game. If you're interested you can go here:

http://www.aluehn.de/

and download it for free. If you're interested in playing more free German games you can get them here:

http://www.adventure-creator.com/

I think I enjoy playing it in German more than I would English it's a good way to learn the language that's for sure.

Bernard,

Du bist das Willkommen, traurig ich wußtest nicht

I do a lot of translating from P&C DK and I've noticed that the dialogue seems different. If someone like me is speaking to someone in German how would I know how to arrange the dialogue.

I think the only way to really learn a language is by listening to conversations a lot. I was lucky that I live near the German border and we had German television reception. This way I learned to understand German at the age of about 6 years old. (Thank you Star Trek with dubbed-over German voices!). Later I spend a lot of my hollidays in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and at high school I learned some grammar. Well, I should mention that a German girl friend I dated with For 18 months was VERY helpfull too!

Wow, sounds like you've had quite a time. I'd love to go visit Germany, but I wouldn't want to go to the big cities, I'd like to go to the small towns where the old castles are.

I'd love to go to Prague too to see the Astronomical Clock. There is so much beautiful history in Europe.

The guys over at P&C DK site are good guys, they always help me with my scripts. I'm going to have to bother them today though I don't like to. Well it was nice chatting with you. I'm off to find a pair of gargoyles. Take care

thanks Bernard, I doubt I'll ever get there in this life time but maybe in the next.

P&C DK is a free adventure game making engine. They have an area for members to upload their work and an area for games that were created with the engine. If you'd like to take a look here is the address:

www.adventure-creator.com

If you ever decide to try your hand at making some games you can get everything you need there. You should give the engine a try it's really easy it's free and they give you a graphic pack and good tutorials that walk you through step by step on how to use the engine. They even have a tutorial on how to make Myst type games. My next game is going to be a 1st person Myst type game.

I don't know how good you are at scripting, I'm not too bad at it. I've been working on the same code for going on a week now and I still can't get it to work, so it looks like I'm going to have to ask for help again over there. They're really good at giving help. Take a look around you just might see some of my work over there.

Well I'm off, take care and happy gaming.
