I just finished Evil Under the Sun in one single day, and as much as I loved it, did anyone notice the lack of animation on the part of Poirot? I think I wasn't able to really connect with him because his sole action tend to be walking slowly and holding his one arm up at his side. (excluding animations.) Did anyone else notice this and didn't think it mattered? In TLJ, for example, April walks, runs, picks things up, have inventory combination actions.
There's also the camera view as well. It faded in and out, and after a while I found myself developing a habit of closing my eyes just before a location and opening it again when I knew the screen was bright again. (It was giving me a bit of a headache)
On camera views; there's the first person view (like in RHEM and ALIDA) and there's the slide show (like Nancy Drew) and then there's the CSI games, which really only give you one fixed view of a crime scene with close-ups. (I think I actually preferred this, since I can't get lost) What do you prefer, and why?
I found that the poirot character was only really good for letting me know where I'm going by being at the "start" of a scene when it loads up. That made it possible to have different camera angles in a scene to show off the island and the hotel, but otherwise he didn't do much. (his voice, on the otherhand, was WONDERFUL.) I wonder if it hindered my "getting into" the game, because although I enjoyed it, I couldn't get "into" it like I did with Syberia and TLJ.

Being a big time fan of Agatha Christie, the fact that Poirot doesn't do a lot didn't bother me--that's one of his biggest characteristics, relying on the "little grey cells" rather than action. The one thing I would have liked to have was some sort of map arrangement so you didn't have to constantly walk to all of the locations once you'd visited them the first time. Running (which is a good option in most games) just wouldn't have done for Poirot, but a map would have been great. Other than that, I really enjoyed the game...

Hi Sally... My only beef about this game was as Jenny stated the Map :/ I would of liked... It was such a pain to go back to certain areas again & again...Slowly all the time.. Got a wee bit boring with that... I did enjoy the game play

Darleen, double-clicking doesn't cause him to run, but it'd go right to the next scene, and I used that LIBERALLY. But I got really impatient with the screen going dark and light and dark and light again. I'm prone to headaches - lord knows what that would've done to a person who's prone to migraines!
(I'm also not too versed in the Agatha Christie books - I've only listened to some of the BBC mysteries and some audio books, so I was maybe expecting the old man to do too much.)
I found the comments hilarious though. (Hairdresser!?)

Sally, in the books that is what Poirot is noted for--sitting at home and thinking his way through the mystery. In the early books, Hastings (who disappears in the later ones) was always trying to get him to go out looking for clues, etc., but he always got the bulk of his results through conversations and some careful observation...

I thought the camera view was absolutely fine, I didn't have a problem with that at all. The screen loading time was occasionally interminably long: slowww fade to black, and, wait for it... heyy, up come the lights again. (Although that might possibly have more to do with my computer struggling with the tech specs. I did have to turn off a few of the special effects.) The actor voicing Poirot was perfect, I was very impressed by him. As for character animation, the Poirot gait was absolutely spot-on. However, that continual habit of Poirot's brushing specks of imaginary dust from his left sleeve was driving me BARMY towards the end of the game. I agree, a map for easy movement around the island would have been a benefit.
