Hi everyone! I just finished playing Sherlock Holmes, Mystery of the Mummy and absolutely loved it. Although I absolutely HATE sliders. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy previous Sherlock Holmes games. I noticed on the walkthrough page there were some previous games. Are they very old, are they still available. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, ET wink

Hi ya', ET! laugh

The ones I know about are:

Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective
Sherlock Holmes: The Riddle of the Crown Jewels
Sherlock Holmes: The Rose Tattoo
The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes

and, of course "Mystery of the Mummy."

The prior games are all difficult to find, some more so than others. I would suggest checking our Trading Post, then eBay, or GTZ. Bet you'd have to pay a premium for any one of them though. wink

And....The Serrated Scalpel. thumbsup

The Rose Tattoo and The Serrated Scalpel will be hard to find, best to watch eBay and GTZ. wink

I think there is a DVD version of the Consulting Dectective. I'll check it out. wink

Just to clarify some of the name variations, Serrated Scalpel and Rose Tattoo are both games in the Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes series (there is no separate game by that name). smile

I believe there are 3 separate Consulting Detective volumes, with 3 games each.

If you check out the link that nolalou gave, you will see that you can RENT this if you are a member of Netflix. Netflix is a DVD movie rental company that works by mail. I added it to my queue so I shall be getting it in a couple of days. This is really great.

WOW! Thanks Shrimpnose and Jack! I hadn't a clue there were that many games in the series. I was thinking we ought to archive the list you posted here..... Heck, no need to do that with you two (and probably a few other experts) around!

I find it fascinating that I can demonstrate no knowledge of my own and yet ride shrimpnose's coattails to glory. What a GREAT board this is! thumbsup

I remember my older son playing Sherlock Holmes:The Riddle of the Crown Jewels in 1988 .It was I believe a text only non-graphic adventure put out by Infocom I think was the company name. Also it was Dr Watson was the one doing the detective work because Holmes just was up doing much of anything. Infact you got so fustrated with him that you could make Dr Watson pull out his revolver and shoot Holmes, whereby Lestrade comes out and arrests Watson stating that he did not like Holmes either and can understand why he did it.There was always an answer for just about anything you typed into the game.Of course this was DOS only.Butb if one can play it and does not mind alot of typing it is a great game

I went through my floppy games awhile ago and found one called 221B Bakers Street - don't know the year - I'll have to dig it out. Hmmm - seems I need to find the Consulting Detective Series to round out my Sherlock Holmes collection laugh
