If I recall correctly in Riven there is a childs face in the pattern of the stone on the cliff face near the helmet Linking Point and giant dagger at the beginning of the game. I believe it is a picture of one of the developers kids....I think Riven has quite a few like that...

On of the silliest and most juvenile is when you click several times on the chair next to the toilet in Phantasmagoria 1. Then click on the toilet.......

juvenile.......but still worth doing over and over again in each chapter of that game!! (doesn't take much to amuse me...)

Yes, Riven has quite a few Easter eggs. I think the kids on the cliff were Vander Wende's, Rand's kids were in the first tunnel going to the beetle room, and Robyn's appeared in the water down the side of the cliff after Cho disappears.

RAWA is written 4 pixels high on the rocks near the first maglev. And that's because it relates to a poem that gave a series of ... More info here

Many Easter eggs in Myst III: Exile were visible when you held down the tilde key. More details here

realMyst's Easter eggs were revealed by puzzles from Spyder. This site tells you how to find them

I've seen these eggs for myself. My two favorites are Gehn's opera bit & Rand Miller's doughnuts speech in realMyst. I dont know much about Easter eggs for other games.

Riven has a wonderfully complex Easter Egg puzzle. There are specific items you must click on in a specific order. This unlocks several special effects in the game, including Gehn singing opera, a silly movie in one of the scopes on Spike Island, Christmas decorations in the Temple Room on Jungle Island, and a few others. I'll check for the link to a website that explains everything and post it here when I find it.

Ooops, Salar got in ahead of me with the link. It's definitely worth doing, but you'll need to start a fresh game or go back to earlier saves to do it.

Timelapse has a cute little Easter egg on Easter Island (Where else?). Walk past the statue where the diary is found and turn around just where the path turns. Click the statue to watch it do something funny.

Here are some Easter Eggs that I've discovered that haven't seen mentioned so not sure if I'm the only one to find them or only one to mention them:

In Safe Cracker one of the rooms has a pair of computers in it. If you click on one of the computers you can click on some of the icons on it you can view some funny stuff. It's been so long since played it am working off memory but think one of the folders is called Games. If you open the folder you'll see three games listed. As recall one was called "PISSED" and it shows this guy with electical tape acting like one of the brothers from Myst (it was quite funny). There's another icon for a game that makes fun of one of the Journeyman games and is called "Buried In Slime" and says to insert another disk and the last one is this thing about a horse or something. I later talked to one of the game developers named Nigel (who turned out to be the guy with the Electrical tape on his face) and he told me that the horse thing was for some other project they did.

Another Easter Egg that I discovered was in playing Ripper. When you go to load the game you type Riper instead of Ripper you'll get a little movie to play.

Black Dahlia has quite a few that are well known but if want to learn more there's a site dedicated to Easter eggs at http://www.eeggs.com/tree/563.html

hope this helps,
Brian

Blackstone Chronicles. When you are in Malcolm's office, you can enter in John Saul (and many of the individuals who made the game names into the computer for funny information). John Saul was the author of the books.

Hi guys - We've actually kinda not been updating our easter eggs pages for a while as we didn't really think everyone looked at them. Seems we were wrong though.

Would the posters here mind if we used the easter eggs we haven't got on the site so we could add a few more sections?

VillaThrilla, where are you from?

Okay, don't hurt me, but I'm coming out of the closet...as the Nancy Drew fanatic that I am!! I've been trying to keep it under wraps, but can't help but burst out with these Easter Eggs.

MHM
Before memembers open the floor to reveal the gold, they can run up to the attic and look inside the crates to see a floating head. You can also go to Nancy's room and reset the clock to 3:00 pm, then go to the lounge to recieve a phone call.

TRT
Gamers can call two moderators from their forum and one employee. Dial Gocats, McQuacks or Aracari. (use the letters on the dial pad)

FIN
Dial the Library of Congress before Eustacia gives you the number. You'll see a list of music from the game that you can click on and enjoy.

Ghost Dogs
Call two gamers who solved the clues to guess that SSH would be the next game after FIN, their names are Manon and Solver, on the phone to recieve none other than a real Easter Egg. lol Wave it around while walking through the woods and see a few extra clips.

Haunted Carousel
The clue left to find the easter egg by aracari, (one of HI's employee's) was:

"When the mathematician no longer guards the lair
And she finds herself all alone, the maiden fair

Then approach the fiery extinguisher of flames
And search high above to play the strange game

Armed with knowledge and the goose's gold
Seek the package of tails sold

Then you will hear a story so odd and strange
When you search to the right of the machine of change"

When you are alone in Ingrid's workshop, click on the door, but don't leave. Click on the red sign above the fire extinguisher. Keep your prize. Look in Elliot's box, then to the right of the prize machine in the Midway Games.

Deception Island
Click on the guppy and get a certificate! Open the trapdoor to the hardware store a few times. When you are done building your sandcastle, click on the hotspot in the corner, go to My computer and see a picture of your sandcastle (or you could use PrtScreen like normal. wink )

I thought I recognized your name! lol

I wondered why I had to google into the other easter egg pages on your site even after finding the first.

Incidentally, did you have a page for Monkey Island 2 that I just didnt find?

IMO Egg hunting is a fun way to replay favorites. I, for one, would be very glad to see the Easter egg pages linked back up.

No,I dont think anyone woud mind if you shared the Myst Easter egg info. You might want to talk to Zardoz about realMyst but lots of people knew the rest of it. Far as I know, even the recent re-releases (as a trilogy) still have these fun bits.

Hey Susan - We do have a MI2 easter eggs page but we actually put them under the 'Cheats' heading on the site as we didn't think they'd be popular enough for us to do a section for them on their own. I'll look into getting more stuff on the easter eggs back up on the site as it seems to be a pretty popular thing.

This is great! I've been wanting to go back and replay Riven because I had heard that there were a few things that I could have missed, but I didn't realize that there was an extra puzzle! Thanks LadyK and Solar of Myst. Ah, yes yet another example of wonderful enabling lol <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" /> wink

Thanks for the site, VillaThriller.

I didn't see the Nancy series, but if you want, feel free to use the Easter Eggs from them. wink

I've saved your page under favorites, looks like you put alot of work into it. Keep up the good work. wink

Trail Mystic,
I'm glad I could contribute to your addiction. wink

Now I'm off to get my own egg fix, thanks to Salar. Will it be Exile or RealMyst? Hmmm. Why not both?

Thanks for everyone who's letting us use their tips. I'll get someone on it when they get a spare chance.

We're actually in the process of re-vamping the site with datbases and lots of completed code thingies so I might try and do it myself as then I don't have to spend time doing the complicated stuff and it gives me a chance to play some of these games (in the name of research obviously).

Well, we've had a bit of a blitz and added some new eggs to all our existing game sections and added some completly new ones for games that weren't included before like Blade Runner.
