Hi, someone played this game?
I have trouble with the combat, I really can't understand what do!
In fight, sometimes I kill (a bear, a snake, a panther...) quite easily, for others animals it looks like they don't want to die at all!
Have I to stay in the right spot to strike my spell or what?
Cheers,

Different spells work for certain creatures better than others. At the beginning I found the fireball to be most effective. I also used my shields - magic shield and I think the other one was called stone shield or something like that (that one was good with snakes). On my first turn I would use my shield and then on the following turns I would use fireball until my shield ran out and then I would use the shield again - unless I had killed all of the creatures. Also, you might want to stay in the inhabited areas, such as the village, and try to find and use objects to level up and get more powerful. And if you have any potions you can drink one during one of your turns.

I didn't move around during combat. Combat also seems to be based on luck - sometimes if I didn't get first turn I couldn't win the battle.

Hope this helps a little - this is one of my favorite games.

What really upset me that I can't pass every animal with health 13 ! Doesn't matter what I use, looks like I cannot kill it.
And another thing:I cannot increase the spell strengh, I keep the mouse pressed, but the strengh is always on 1 dot, looks like I cannot increase this at all!
Maybe I have an old version of the game? But I don't think so, because even on the manual is written to keep the mouse down to increase the level of strengh!

Carla, it really helped me to use the skeleton conjuring spell that you got when you were in the castle. I then move on the side of the skeleton furthest away from wherever the enemy is, so it is attacked instead of me. The skeleton also gets a turn, and some of the time actually hurts or kills the enemy. Whether I use a defensive skill like the shield depends on the speed of the enemy - if they can reach me, since your mana is limited.
As for your strength spell - do you mean that you have upped it in statistics when you leveled up, and now can't use it?

Nickie,
these are my details at the moment:
Level 16
Experience 1530
Health 25
Manna 90
Attack 3/1
Defence 3/0
Speed 4/5
Lessons 75
I still can't use more than 1 dot of strenght in the spells, and looks like I can kill all the animals with strengh up to 10, but none above 10!!!
I tried the skeleton and all the spells I've got, but no success at all!

Carla, I'm confused. Have you upped the individual spells to be stronger?

Nickie, now I am confused!
What's "upped the individual spells" means?
Have I missed something?
Cheers!!!

Carla,

Have you added any skill points to the various spells? That's how you'll be able to increase the spell strength. Each time you gain a level you also gain skill points that you can distribute to the various spells.

See that 75 lesson points you have? That means there are 75 points that you need to distribute to up your spells. Go to the top of the screen where it gives the character's name I think it is, in a little block - same place where your load and save screens are, and click. A screen will come down with all the various spells, and it will show circles with little pluses in them. Decide what you want, and click away, giving yourself from one to five points in a spell strength. I bet you will be able to play a little stronger. wink I'm amazed that you got that far without it, you must be clever! I like the cure health, speed, magic shield, fireball, lightning and conjuring the different animals (the golem is the toughest I think), but I'm not that far in the game yet to have tried some of the spells, though these are working for me now.

Finally I understood what to do and I made it!
I never increased my strenght (that's me never reading the manual...)and thanks to your explanation I finally uppen my spells and now I killed my first golem!!!!
I like this game, but I was getting very frustated because I didn't understand what I had to do to kill the big animals.(Nickie you are right the Golem is very hard)
Thanks a lot Nickie and Toger, I finally can carry on!
Cheers,

If you wrap the golems in the spider web (I forget the actual name of the spell as it's been a while), they won't be able to move at all and you can clobber them with your fireball.

I'm really enjoying this game, but I keep dying and I don't know how to restore my health!I have half of my health now, I've got potions, but what I have to do?If I give the potion to Eagor he says "nothing" what I have to do?
This time I had a look at the manual but I couldn't find any help there!

Carla, I have read elsewhere that there is a trick to doing that right, and it isn't explained in the manual. I haven't tried to do it, so will try, unless you've already figured it out by now!

Carla, I used the potions and didn't have any problem, so not quite sure what to tell you. You do need to make sure that you're clicking the potion and then clicking on the guy's name, or it won't work. In other words, you can't just click on the character. If that isn't the problem, I don't know.
Where are you in the game? I'm up in the tower after the mirror. But I've spent a lot of extra time fighting, since the baddies reappear every so often.

Nickie,
I've just arrived in Moharn, after being killed several time by the Vampiress!
This game is very difficult with this combat thing, but is soooooo fascinating and I'm loving every minute of it!

Glad you're having fun with it too, Carla! I got to that town as well, and then had to go play from a save, since I hadn't bought any mana potions (the demons were pulverizing me, just too many of them in the basement). So I'm finally back in town! happydance
