JoWooD and The Adventure Company Bring The Hardy Boys to PC

Quote:
JoWooD and The Adventure Company, leading publishers of PC adventure games around the world, are pleased to announce that they have entered into a partnership with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to develop a series of interactive games based on the works of the world’s most popular boy detectives The Hardy Boys.

With over 100 million copies of their beloved books in print, America’s original crime scene investigators, Frank and Joe Hardy are ready to be featured in an exciting PC game format. The titles will release worldwide over the next 5 years, beginning with the first title The Tower Treasure set to release in the Fall 2008. The Hardy Boys series has been notably anticipated by the PC adventure gaming audience and will be an impressive addition to the company’s strong line-up of family friendly adventure titles.

JoWooD and The Adventure Company’s goal is to create a series of games that remain true to the original stories and characters in The Hardy Boys with stunning and varied environments, challenging and thought provoking puzzles in an easy-to-use gaming interface.

That's cool! I grew up reading The Hardy Boys.
Always wished for a video game.

I had never heard of Nancy Drew or the Hardy boys before the games as I am from the UK & grew up on Enid Blyton, then Ballet Shoes / Black Beauty etc. Loving the games & can't wait for the Hardy Boys

Considering the success of the Nancy Drew line of games, I'm surprized it took this long for someone else to jump on the bandwagon. If the Hardy Boys' games sell just as well as the ND games do, you can bet there will be a TON more 'teen detective' type games shortly thereafter.

WOW! That is great!!! I always wondered when they started putting the Hardy Boys in the ND games as someone you can talk to on the phone, if they would have their own games. Well, now I know!!! Thanks!!! thumbsup

Never read Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys books, but certainly enjoy the ND games and will look forward to the Hardy Boys games.
Wonder if they will look the same as they do in Kapu Cave?

I remember the Hardy Boys well as I have read all their adventures when I was much much younger. Sadly, my parents had to move away from their house at much later date, and I didn't know what happened to all the books.

This should be really interesting I think smile And possibly great for the detective adventures out there. (and maybe for the adventure genre in general?)

Adventure gaming is fun smile

Thanks Becky....I knew that one day someone would think of developing games with the Hardy Boys featured. They were in two of the Nancy Drew games -one of which you could switch back and forth from them to ND. Really excited about this news as I'm a big ND game fan. I've played them all and wait impatiently for the next. If the Hardy Boys adventures are as great as I think they'll be then you can bet the series is going to be quite popular in the future. Keep them coming!

I wonder if you'll be able to talk to Nancy on the phone in the Hardy Boys game?

This is gonna be a great game.

Somebody should do a series of games based on Robert Arthur's "The Three Investigators" books. Three friends intstead of two brothers.

Guybrush, this series already exists smile - in German language. Just 2 days ago the 7th title of the kids series was published in Germany. The series (books, audio and games) is called here: "Die drei ???" (=The three question marks).

I myself grew up on Enid Blyton and some books called De tre detektiver (in Danish). I think it's the same as The 3 ?.

I'm looking forward to this one as I love the books and also love the Nancy Drew games. Anyone know if this game will be similar to the Nancy Drew games?
