You have to be careful about buying these "Part 2's" and "Part 3's" of older games.
Check the system requirements for what version of Windows they work with.
If they list older versions of Windows, like Windows 2000, there is reason to
suspect that they are actually parts of a previously published game that has been divided.
Unless it's a brand new game, like The Raven, watch out for the words "Part" or "Chapter."
Also try looking up games on
***Mobygames*** or
***Pagoda Game Database*** to see when they were originally published. If they were published years ago,
make sure you're not buying a second or third "part" of a game you already own.
Adventure Shop does list the full Nostradamus game at
***the link HeavenlyJoy gave***as being $19.95:
Bundles that include this game
Nostradamus Series: The Last Prophecy - Full ... contains 3 games
They call it "3 games" though it's really 3 parts of what was originally one game.
This has happened a lot with the games originally published by Kheops.
It's also happened with Syberia.
The "updated" and divided-up versions often have the disadvantage of not allowing
you to save where you want.
And there can be problems with "updated" versions.
It's interesting to compare the GOG versions of Amerzone. GOG has both a PC version and a Mac version. The PC version is like the old, original game. The Mac version has improved graphics, HOWEVER there are fewer nodes, less ability to explore and examine things, less interactivity, and fewer animations. For example, in the PC version you can use a door to go outside when you're in the upper part of the lighthouse. In the Mac version you can't open the door. In the PC version you can interact with the model of the hydrafloat and get it to animage. In the Mac version the same display is unclickable -- just part of the background.
Sometimes it's better to seek out the original version than to play updated versions.
I'm glad GOG offers the original PC version. I'd rather play the original version of
Amerzone inside VMware on a Mac than play the "updated" and diminished Mac port.
