Well i installed the new Tex Murphy game, and it looks like I'll have to wait until some time in the future to play it. My PC isn't up to speed on the game requirements. I don't have enough memory and my Nvidia video card is not supported ( not powerful enough) i just get a green screen instead of the video :(. My fault for not checking the game specs,

Ive had my current computer for 4 or 5 years now, but with some home repair projects I'm not sure I can afford to upgrade right now. So Tex will had to sit on the shelf for the time being. When I'm ready for a new PC i might be back to ask for advice,

In the mean time other games I've played work ok, including BS4 which Im playing now.
I see some new adventure games are available for iPad. Have any of you tried those? Opinion vs PC?

Thanks
Louis

That's a shame, nolalou, and it's not that long ago that I was in a similar position myself ....

But, one good thing is that by the time you DO get to the game, there will be solves available for every puzzle somewhere on the web - if not here at Gameboomers !! lol

Louis,

I have not tried any of the ipad games but I have been there before on being excited for a new game and then finding out it wouldn't run on my old computer. eek Hopefully it won't be too old until you can upgrade.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

BS4 is 7 years old now, so it's not surprising that it works on a computer that's 4 or 5 year old.
Requirements for BS5 aren't much different.

I haven't found much in the way of Adventure games for iPad that aren't already made for PC (and many older games are better on PC because of "casualization" in the iPad version).

If you like puzzles, there are games like The Room 1 and 2.

There are some games, like ***The Phoenix Wright Trilogy*** and ***Ghost Trick*** that were originally made for Nintendo DS, and were ported to iPad, though not to PC.

Why not play one of the earlier ones then?
Like Pandora Directive or Under a Killing Moon?
Both are available at GOG.

I would not suggest starting the series by playing Tesla Effect anyway.
The plot in Tesla Effect gets confusing enough, even when you HAVE played the earlier games.

I agree with NAD. Right now, you could find yourself waiting for DAYS to get any kind of help (I'm currently stuck, again and have been playing since the 7th!) and the game will get into your head as you try to think your way through puzzles or problems with no one available who can help. You'll get to it and have just as much fun with plenty of help, when you're ready. We've ALL been there at one time or another. 'Black Mirror 2' was sitting on a shelf for me unable to play it, until my beloved XP died a horrible death!
AND you should play the others! Now is a great time to catch up and fall in love with the series. Under A Killing Moon from GOG would be the best place to start.
