My name is Ryan Khatam and I am an enormous adventure game fan.

Recently I have developed an adventure game concept of my own and I was looking for honest feedback from people who share my love and enthusiasm for these types of games.

Below is concept art for my Point & Click Adventure Game, "Johnny Rocketfingers 3."

As adventure gamers, does this look like something you would want to play? As far as animation style, it would be high quality frame by frame hand drawn animation. No puppeting.

Hi Ryan
Welcome to Gameboomers. It looks interesting enough to me.
I assume that the guy with the stick figure is Johnny ?
Personally,I don't like quick action sequences in my adventure games.
It looks like quite the concept. Good luck with your game.

Cathy luck

Thought I'd answer here rather than the AGS forums where I also saw this :)

You have a really distinctive style and personally I think it looks absolutely great. The stickman character (though it's not completely new to the adventure game genre, I've seen it done a few times) really just adds to the quirky appeal of it. I will definitely be keeping my eye on this one!

I think it looks interesting but this part worries me:

It has a grandiose movie-length story that consists of five episodes total. Each episode will be roughly 3 hours of game play and will end in a crazy twist that is only answered in the next episode. The $88,000 goal is for the first episode alone. Stretch goals will have to be reached in order to produce the remaining 4 episodes.

Cathy: Thank you for the warm welcome! Yes the stick man is Johnny Rocketfingers =)
You mentioned, "Personally,I don't like quick action sequences in my adventure games."
I am glad you brought this up. The quick action sequences within the game are not interactive. They are just cut scenes.
Just wanted to clarify this in case you thought you would have to play it like an action game.

CaptainD: Thank you very much man! Glad you see the potential in this project.
I hope you will check out the sequel, it is free to play online: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/310635

oldbroad: Thank you for your comment. Just curious what worries you about the other episodes being stretch goals? I am looking at it this way: if only one episode is funded, that episode will be so incredibly enthralling and captivating that people will be starving for more, causing a demand that will hopefully snowball into more episodes being made. Understandably, that may come off as wishful thinking, but I am extremely confident in this project and it's potential.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Additional feedback is very welcome and I would love to address any questions.

Mostly that it said: "Each episode will be roughly 3 hours of game play and will end in a crazy twist that is only answered in the next episode." I don't like an open ending in a game. I like some kind of ending just in case the next episode never shows up. I absolutely hated the 2nd Runaway game because of the way it had no ending. I was not aware of that until I played it and it ticked me off royally. The third game did come out but I couldn't enjoy it because I was still mad about the second game and I really never felt it tied the second game up anyway. Therefore, I would wait to buy your game after all episodes are available.

The artwork looks cool - if the game has sensible puzzles and a good storyline - I'd be interested. If there is any clicking through line after line of dialog - or dialog tree choices - it's a deal breaker for me and will go un-played - but I probably buy it anyway ( yea you get my $$ ) just ...... well......because it's an adventure game !!

But being an episodic game - I would never buy the episodes until the WHOLE game was released !

Oldbroad: Thank you for replying. You have brought up another good subject. You said, "I don't like an open ending in a game. I like some kind of ending just in case the next episode never shows up."

I 100% agree with you.

Each episode has it's own, self-contained story with a beginning, middle and conclusion; and each story has a solid ending so you are not left hanging. However, after the story concludes, a NEW mystery/question is revealed/asked - which leads into the next episode.

I hope this makes sense. Basically, even though all five episodes make one big story, each episode is a story all in it's own with an ending plus a new mystery presented.

sureshot: NO clicking through line after line!

The questions raised here have been awesome. Keep them coming and I will be glad to answer more.
